Posts vs. Pages

While publishing posts is the primary way to share content on your site, you can also add pages to make it look and feel more like a traditional website. Learn more about the difference between posts and pages here.

You can create a new post in two different ways:

  1. The + Write button at the top right corner in your Toolbar when logged into your WordPress.com account
  2. Go to Posts in the left sidebar of your site dashboard.
  3. Select Add new post.

To add Pages:

  1. Go to Pages in the left sidebar of your site dashboard.
  2. Select Add new page.

Adding Images, Video, and Audio

You can add galleries, slideshows, and individual images to posts and pages. If you’d like to upload videos to your site, we offer VideoPress for sites on the WordPress.com Premium, Business, and eCommerce plans or the legacy Pro plan. You can also easily embed videos from services like YouTube & Vimeo on any plan.

Each new WordPress.com site comes with 1 GB of free storage for files and images. If you need additional storage space, or you’d like to upload audio to your site, these features are available with a paid WordPress.com plan.
