Manage Paying Customers and Donors

This guide will show you how to view and manage your site’s customers, supporters, and donors when using WordPress.com Payments features.

Check your Revenue

You can view a breakdown of your revenue by visiting Tools → Monetize (or Hosting → Monetize if using WP-Admin):

Revenue summary

Here, you will find:

View Your Supporters List

To view a list of your supporters:

  1. Visit your site’s dashboard.
  2. Navigate to Tools → Monetize (or Hosting → Monetize if using WP-Admin).
  3. Click on the Supporters tab.

Here, you can view a list of everyone making payments, view individual supporter details, and cancel any payment.

Cancel Payments and Issue Refunds

Your supporters can cancel any time from their own WordPress.com accounts. You can also cancel their payments for them from the supporters list:

  1. Visit your site’s dashboard.
  2. Go to Tools → Monetize (or Hosting → Monetize if using WP-Admin).
  3. Click on the Supporters tab.
  4. On the right side of a supporter’s details, click the ellipsis (three dots).
  5. Select “View“.
  6. In the ‘Details’ panel, click the ellipsis (three dots) next to their offer.
  7. Click the “Cancel payment” option.

Selecting “Cancel payment” will cancel the scheduled payment immediately so that the customer will no longer have access to the content they signed up to, and will not be billed again.

Canceling will not automatically refund the customer. To issue a refund to your supporter or customer, visit your Stripe Dashboard. Follow the instructions from Stripe here to issue a full or partial refund.

Edit Payment Plans

When setting up payment buttons, paid content, and paid newsletters, you will create a payment plan. To view and edit your payment plans:

  1. Visit your site’s dashboard.
  2. Go to Tools → Monetize (or Hosting → Monetize if using WP-Admin).
  3. Click on the Payment Settings tab.
  4. Scroll down to the “Manage plans” section.
  5. Click the ellipses (three dots) next to any plan and choose:
    • Edit the price, name, emails, and other details about the plan. If you change any prices, existing payments will not be affected. They will continue renewing at the same rate they started with.
    • Delete the plan. Any existing payments will continue. If you want to stop payments for existing customers, see the previous section.
