Community Pool

Where WordPress bloggers support each other with feedback and advice.

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Looking for more information about custom domains, advanced design options, and other enhancements for your blog? Find the WordPress.com plan that’s right for you.

Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

  1. Hey good people! 🙂

I’ve come to learn that in order to properly take care of anything you own, the knowledge of it’s specs forms a necessary foundation. Likewise with natural hair, knowing your hair type helps you lay a good foundation in figuring out how to best take care of it. That’s why I started a deries of posts on natural hair types.

Please check it out and let me know if the article was in anyway helpful to you, or if it at least taught you something new 🙂 ❤

  2. Hi, guys. I’m relatively new, and looking for any helpful criticism to improve my site. I make movie reviews of some of the most respected and popular films of all time. My latest post is a review of Akira Kurosawa’s ‘Yojimbo.’ Any advice is welcome. Thank you!
Also, warning if it bothers you, I don’t shy away from profanity, so if that bothers you, you may not like my site.

    1. That was a truly honest and empathetic piece. It breaks my heart that life’s are cut so cruelly short and you’re completely right, there’s no rationalising it. So glad I found your blog and looking forward to seeing you in my reader✨❤️

      1. Thank you! I’m glad you enjoy my JP Garden post – I could have spent all day there, it was so beautiful. My pictures do it no justice. 🙂

Your site is great – I love your Harry Potter series ❤ It makes me itch to pull out my paints … I think you've inspired the rest of my evening!

    1. Hello, I like the layout of your site. My one suggestion would be making your continue reading button a little bigger I had trouble clicking it. Also look into getting a logo, “Redhead in Love” is catchy and should have a awesome logo. Overall I love your site! Hope this helps.

      1. Hey Marcus, Thank you for your feedback. I’ll see if there is a way to tweak the font size a bit on that button 🙂 As for the logo, I think that a great idea, I’ll have to do some research to see if I can get one put together.

I checked out your site – it’s nice and clean, nothing to distract from your content. The images come across as thoughtfully chosen based on your post topic. I clicked through your pages and it appears that there isn’t any content available on the “News” – maybe add a post providing the reader with a hint on what they can expect in this section. Nicely done, overall. Thanks! Brandi

  5. Happy Monday, Swimmers!

Someone at a bar tried to flirt with me last week (I didn’t have my wedding ring on). No one has tried to flirt with me in a very long time. The encounter brought forth today’s post: Gentlemen, There are Better Ways to get into a Woman’s Panties than Buying her a Drink

    https://robinbrodrick.com/2017/10/09/gentlemen-there-are-better-ways-to-get-into-a-womans-panties-than-buying-her-a-drink/

I would love it if you would leave your thoughts in the comments section of the blog post, whether you agree or disagree, and I look forward to interacting with your blog, too!

    Cheers,
    Robin

  6. I’d like to invite everyone to come by and check out a double shot photography/creative writing piece, “Autumn 2017.” I like writing these seasonal pieces, and being able to take a good photography to accompany them. This time, I managed to get a good one right outside my front door in my lawn. Comments and feedback are always welcome, and please leave them in the comments section of the post page, and click the like button on the post page. If you like what you see, feel free to browse around, and follow along so you don’t miss anything as I post several times a week. Thanks in advance.

    1. My favourite books tend to be classics. My all time favourite is To Kill a Mockingbird! Currently reading Great Expectations. I do enjoy a biography though, I loved Malala’s story. Your blog is great, looking forward to seeing you on my reader✨💛

    1. Adam , went through your blog. From a content standpoint your blog is great. I would work on the design layout a bit if I were you. First suggestion is to not use pictures with watermarks, it just takes away the authenticity of the post for me. Also think about adding a continue reading button so your readers aren’t overwhelmed by a lot of words when scrolling. Last suggestion is giving credit to whoever picture you’re using.

Hope this helps you ! Great job

    1. Your blog is one of my favorites to follow. I have tried to comment several times on your posts but my comments never show up. If you’re not receiving my messages I just want you to know that I am a fan. Todays post is full of great advice.

      1. I just scoured our site and found all your comments. I’m not sure what happened, but they did not show up in my app, and went straight to the trash bin, where I most definitely did not put them. They are now approved and I’m reading through them all. Thank you again for telling me about this, and for continuing to follow us. FYI: I enjoy your posts as well! I love the down to earth tone as well as tips about farming, homesteading and recipes.
