Community Pool

Where WordPress bloggers support each other with feedback and advice.

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Looking for more information about custom domains, advanced design options, and other enhancements for your blog? Find the WordPress.com plan that’s right for you.

Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

    1. Your blog has a really nice and simple layout, it’s easy to navigate and find different types of posts. You have a lot of useful widgets but one thing I’d recommend is that displays categories or tags, or even one that shows your latest/most popular posts. One thing I did notice is that you have 2 follow buttons so you might want to consider that. Also, I couldn’t find an About Page so if you do have one you could display it on the sidebar.
      I hope this was useful!!

  2. Hello everyone. My blog is all but a little over two months old now and I’ve switched themes like a thousand times. I think I finally found one I want to stick to and was hoping for some feedback. If you could please take and look and tell what you think of the overall layout, widgets, images used, article
length etc. I would really appreciate it.

  4. Hey everybody,

It’s been awhile since I was last here. I started a new section to my blog called MichaelaEats and it’s about food, cooking and baking.

It’s quite new for me and I would love to get advice on how often I should post and how to present it in an interesting way. Please let me know what you think. Links to current cooking blogs would be awesome too.

I’m happy to look at anyone else’s stuff too and leave feedback.

    Thanks

    1. I love the pictures and I think with posts about food pictures are really important. Maybe once a week would be a good amount? Really glad I found your blog and I am excited to keep up with these food posts. I am quite new to blogging so any feedback would be much appreciated x

  5. Hi. I just looked at your blog and being new to blogging myself and just finishing up my own theme (I think) I can totally relate to the widget situation. I think you have all the necessary ones. I don’t see anything integral missing here. It’s all very clean and easy to follow and it’s not overwhelmed with widgets which can make a site look overcrowded. Good job.

    1. Your post was informative, easy to read, and had an encouraging tone. One thing I learned is that some companies begin with a good set of organic products, but over time, they allow some unacceptable ingredients to creep into some of them. I remind myself to read the ingredient list with every purchase. https://gracelead.co

  7. Hiya! So I write a music blog and have been doing so since May, I post three times a week and 4 times if I’m reviewing. I’d like some feedback on any posts or the layout of my blog, I’ve posted a link to one of my favourite posts of the last 7 days. Any comments or constructive criticism welcomed, thanks xxx

  8. Hello everybody!

My sister and I started blogging two months ago https://olivetreebythesea.com/.

We are new in the blogging world and of course have some doubts about everything…the logo, design, page layout, colors,…but, one of our major questions is about the content of our page.

When we started, we decided that we will write a Mediterranean lifestyle blog – a little bit about sea life, olive oil, Mediterranean recipes, some travelling, stuff like this.
Every now and then we have some ideas for new posts that do not really fit in what I wrote above – for example about dogs, or about sth from everyday life,…. But we are not sure whether to keep the topics focused, or to include various topics and write about everything that comes to our minds. What do you think?

I would like to hear some feedback!
    Thank youuu!

    1. I think you must be doing something right to have 412 followers in 2 months but I also think that because of description and about page you’d be better to keep your topics focused on what you’ve intended. But your blog is really good and has a lot of really good stuff in it.
