Zero to Hero: Day Three
-
I’ve already made the post that was on my mind when I started my blog, but I wrote this one today. I could use some feedback if anyone is willing. Thank you!
-
This zero to hero challenge was very timely for the beginning of my revamped blog.
Would love to know what you think as this is what I would call an expanded version of my about page -
Here is my first blog the one that has been online for about 1 1/2 yrs..
I went about this challenge a bit differently I decided to be my own critic.http://captureyouphotography.com/2014/01/04/zero-to-hero-day-3-my-internal-critic/

I found this a tricky one to post, probably in part because I’ve had my blog since June 2012. I don’t recall the single driving motivation that led me to starting it! :)

@susipet A link is something you can click on, and you’ll be taken to a page. When I replied to you, the word LINK was blue [and clickable] :)
But here goes the address to that page with the tags:
http://wordpress.com/tags/
Copy that, and paste it in your browser’s address field and all the tagged posts will be revealed :) Hope this helps… -
I started my blog a couple of months ago. I’m doing the challenge because I know I have so much more to learn yet I want to make it flow from my pre-challenge posts. I chose my topic to answer day 3 mostly because the photo that inspired it was ready and sitting on my desktop waiting to be used… Let me know what you think:

Hey, all — loving watching everyone dig deeper with these posts. Loving how you’re supporting one another even more!
-
Also, don’t forget the “zerotohero” tag! There are a lot of posts there already, but we know there are more :)
-
I put this post on my home page, as the first post I had in mind is to explain my title ‘the journeys of life’. Please read and tell me what you think about it :) It’s below the slider. Thanks in advance!

@michelleweber or anyone who might know… I have two blogs.. Everything I reply to or post a comment on only does it with my first blog name. Is there a way to comment using my other blog?
-
Like many others I am enjoying this daily challenge, so thanks for the inspiration! I have learnt so much already and got right into the widgets after day two’s challenge, I didn’t know what they were or how to use them but now I have more of an idea. Day three’s challenge sent me back to look at my first post in May 2012 where I wrote a piece about myself (funny that!) being three times less beautiful after having had some moles removed. I think I had written an earlier piece about starting out with my blog but I deleted it. I will have to have a re-think and get onto writing a post.
Good work everyone, I’m really enjoying the community spirit! -
First: a big CONGRATS to all of us in the Zero-to-Hero challenge – I’m impressed and inspired by so many bloggers with the courage to start and restart their blogging efforts. Hearing so many voices with so much energy is truly amazing.
Second, in response to @cteavin’s excellent query:
1) How do you gauge how much to write?
2) Are you using pictures to make it easier for the reader?
3) How careful do we need to be if pulling images from the net?1 – Length of posts. I try to keep my posts about 1 to 1-1/2 screens long, no longer, because that’s the length I prefer to read when I’m reading blogs.
2 – Using images. On advice of a blogging mentor, I always try to include an image in every post – images really make blogs memorable for the reader. I use purchased images from a royalty-free source (istockphoto), so there is a small cost to each blog post. But in fact, the image often brings a creative element that inspires my piece.
3 – Images from the net. Others have responded to this one –
Thanks for some GREAT questions! In the spirit of @cteavin’s query:
1) How often do you post to your blog?
2) How do you publicize your blog posts, if at all?Looking forward to responses! Thanks!

Enjoying this but I need to find a way to get to the final publish faster. I worked on this in OneNote for a few hours and still had 9 edits in the tool. I’m sure it will get faster and faster when I write shorter posts :-)

Hey fellow Zero to Hero-ers (what? that’s a word, look it up), hope the challenge is going well for everyone. Here is my post for Day 3! Please read, ignore, enjoy, scoff at, laugh like a hyena on crack at my attempt to write something interesting, do as you please!

Hello everyone. I have to say was a good challenge today but I have to say my post was short and sweet. I had a hard time adding a lot to this post. Maybe it’s just my brain being fried from a 10 1/2 hour work day at the hospital. I wish everyone else good luck and hope you enjoyed this challenge.

I’ve been writing at Compass & Quill for years now (and a couple of other blogs before that), but today was the first time I had the courage to go ahead and do what I’ve always wanted – to write a review. I know that sounds silly, and I’ve written other posts that were *almost* reviews before, but this was the first time I took the time to sit down and write down everything I thought about a product, then actually publish it. It’s still not as polished as I’d like to eventually be with this kind of post, but at least it’s finally there! My final goal is to be able to write more content that gets me paid. I’d love to get to try out new beauty supplies and clothing that fits my readers’ (and my) lifestyles.

I did it. Day 3 done, it may not be perfect but it is me and I know as I continue my blog writing skills will improve so my blog is a work in progress. Looking forward to tomorrow’s assignment.

I actually thought of my post before reading the challenge, and it fit in the challenge. It’s about content mills. Check it out!

Day 3: http://polymathically.wordpress.com/2014/01/04/zero-to-hero-day-3-whats-on-your-mind/
I was really, really angry when I started my blog, and I didn’t even realize it until I thought back on it.
-
I have been lost for hours in this forum and on many of your blogs. I am honored to be among such talent. I eagerly await tomorrow’s assignment!
