I still don’t know what Zombie Flamingoes will end up being, but here is what I am thinking today…

I’m new the party but very excited to have the opportunity to vamp my blog. Hope I’m doing this right because I’m new to the blogging world and it’s a little scary putting your thoughts out there. I’m open to everything and all that will help me become better. Here it goes!
Assignments 1-2 are all done :-)

I have managed to complete todays task. I just used a fragment of an abandoned draft from last year (not a a first blog either) and sort ended up explaining why I’m blogging now. Not sure it gives a sense of where I’m likely to be going with my main blog although I do discuss a 2nd blog I’ve also started as a result of Zero To One.
Hoping a future task will cover how to come up with a decent title for a blog entry.

I am really struck by how difficult this assignment was! And I am stunned by the post that came from it. WOW. I can’t wait to read others assignments.
-
Is it possible to edit posts in these threads. Somehowhow managed to put Zero To One rather than Zero To Hero. No idea where my mind was.
-
I didn’t really write about why I started this blog, but I definitely had something fresh on my mind I wanted to share.
-
@confessionsofamuslimoutcast Way to go with getting your post published! When we write, we have to make so many choices about what we choose to share with others, especially when writing a public blog. The blogs I find to be most interesting are written by those who are not afraid to take chances when it comes to being honest and sharing something personal. I liked your post because of your honesty. Best wishes!

I gave this a try. It wasn’t a subject that I have been wanting to write on, but it’s the first one that came to mind.
-
The reason I started my blog had a lot to do with breaking down my inner critic! http://concentrateonyourself.wordpress.com/

This was a difficult post to write for me as it is somewhat really personal. As soon as I hit “publish” I immediately had butterflies in my stomach. For some reason I feel somewhat safe sharing it with you guys so here it goes :)

Hey all! My name is Natalie…I started my blog, Notes by Natalie, in September about two weeks before I left my teaching career to pursue a new path. It seemed like the perfect time to start documenting my thoughts, adventures, and sources of motivation. The initial inspiration for my blog’s creation was an idea that I call “The Final Twelve.” In this series, I blogged everyday during the 12 days prior to leaving my job. What started as a project to express my feelings in a time of change has turned into such a wonderful hobby. My blog’s focus and design has changed a lot since September, and I’m hoping this challenge will provide more ideas for me to implement!
I look forward to meeting my fellow bloggers and receiving/giving feedback. Cheers, Natalie

This post was completely different to most of my other writing. It’s much more dreamlike and less structured than normal. :) I kinda liked it!

It’s funny to see this assignment now, because actually I really started my blog having some idea in my mind. I wanted to write my blog about the Namibian journey that we’ve made in November and then continue posting about my traveling impressions. The first entry was written right before the start of Zero to Hero:

This is my second time blogging, but my first one became more of an online journal that I never shared with anyone. I want to get back into writing after years of not doing it, and because I also want to get over my “stage fright” (well, the writer’s equivalent of it) I’ve decided to try and make this more public. This is a great challenge and I appreciate you guys for putting it together! I’ve enjoyed reading through everyone else’s blogs so far. :)

Posted earlier but realized I didn’t add a link to my assignments…. Trying this again.

@Silverliningsproject I’ve found that the blogs I like best are the ones where the blog writers are open and honest about their opinions and experiences, and their posts show that a little (or a lot) of thought went into the writing. They don’t necessarily have to say anything “new;” the uniqueness comes from the sense of who the blogger is. The more you try to be fresh and different, the more you tend to just come off as fake and insincere.

I ended up revisiting my first post from about a month ago on this blog and doing some touch up work. Feel free to offer some advice.

Ok, I’ve written my piece for day 3 here:
http://vmandc.wordpress.com/2014/01/04/the-spark-that-started-a-fire/
But I have to admit this one was a bit rough for me. When I decided to pick up writing again, I didn’t really have a set post in mind… In fact, I was still stuck on how I’d unite the many ideas I had under one blog, so I summarized on a few of those ideas, but it’s not my greatest writing I must say. Hope you enjoy it anyways. -
Hey guys! I hope everyone is doing well, going strong & enjoying this exciting challenge! I know I am.
Day three is exciting for me! It’s always cool to revisit where you’ve come from, especially in writing.
So, here is day 3! Can’t wait to read some of you all’s day 3 posts! :)
