Keeping classic editor
-
I don’t want to use the new editor – I’ve tried it before and found it impossible to use. I’m sure it’s great for some people, and each to their own, but I just want to carry on the way I am.
Please would you let me know what, on June 1st, I need to do so that I can go back to using classic editor and ensure that every future post uses classic editor without my having to change it every time?
Many thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
You’ll still be able to use the old editor. You can either use the Classic block or opt to use the Classic editor in WP Admin. You can red more here:

Thank you, but I can’t see what to do. There is no option in WP Admin to switch to classic editor. Is it something that will only appear on June 1st?
I’ve got:
Write blog post
.Manage comments
.Add a page
.Edit menus
.Customize theme
.Change theme
.Add a domain
.Create a logo with LookaNothing there about changing the editor. Will it only appear on Monday? If it’s already there, how do I find it?
Thanks.

We do recommend the new editor though, and we have some extensive documentation available at https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/

Thank you, but that doesn’t answer my question – the instructions don’t make any sense. There is nothing anywhere which gives an option to “use classic editor”.
When I open the WP admin page, what is it that I need to click on in order to make Classic Editor the default which comes up every time I add a new post? Or will it only appear on June 1st?
Please don’t just direct me back to the same instructions. They don’t answer the question – that’s why I’m asking. What does “available” mean? When I get to Word Press admin, what do I then do in order to switch back to Classic Editor? The instructions do NOT tell you that. They just say that it’s “available” – but where is it? What do you click on in order to use it. The instructions say that it’s “available” and then show you a picture of a post using Classic Editor. They are missing the bit that actually matters – how you actually switch to Classic Editor once you’re in the WP admin screen. How do you do that?
Thank you. The instructions just do not tell you what to do – they just say that it’s “available”, but WHERE?
Thanks.

You first need to open the block editor itself by creating a new post or editing an existing one. Then click the three dots top-right. That menu will contain an option to switch to the classic editor, and it should remember that preference:
After we make this switch next week you might need to reselect that option – I’m not sure if your current preference selected via the My Sites editor will be carried over.
Also note you’ll only see that option if you’re using one of our older themes. Our newest themes in the theme showcase were specifically designed for the block editor, and the classic editor is not available if you use those.
