    Hi there!

    A robots.txt file is already added to all WordPress.com sites. If you want to upload a custom one, your site will need to be on the WordPress.com Business plan or higher with plugins enabled.

    If you mainly want to change the search engine settings for your site, you don’t have to add a custom robots.txt file. You can follow the instructions here:
