Community Pool

Where WordPress bloggers support each other with feedback and advice.

Note: The Community Pool will be closed for maintenance between April 9-16. See you back on April 23!

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Looking for more information about custom domains, advanced design options, and other enhancements for your blog? Find the WordPress.com plan that’s right for you.

Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

  1. I just started my blog about my experiences in high school, and am planning on continuing to document my journey through college. On my blog you will find a share of what I have lived through, as well as some (hopefully) useful advice. I only just started, so I know it isn’t a lot right now, but I would greatly appreciate any amount of feedback. I don’t realllly know what I’m doing as far as a blog goes, but I definitely love to write and want to help a few other students out!

    1. You’ve made a strong start. You now need to start promoting your posts so all that hard work gets the recognition it deserves. Good luck!

  2. Hi bloggers!
I recently wrote a post about restoring the balance at home and the cathartic process of it all.
To some it might be a slightly boring subject but for a neat freak like me it’s domestic heaven. I’d love to know your thoughts, please comment on the post if you stop by 🙂 it would be much appreciated!

  5. Hello fellow bloggers! Yesterday, I posted a prompt from “642 Things to Write About” : Describe yourself in the third-person—your physical appearance and personality—as though you were a character in a book.

For those struggling with self-confidence, you’ll find how much this prompt will help you kinda work through those issues. I know it did for me, and would love for some feedback on my response to the prompt / would love to read your responses:

    1. Your blog looks very fresh! The purple/ maroon colour theme really caught my eye. I like the layout as well as the content. I have one minor suggestion – the footer header (e.g. Recent Posts, Archives) would be better if it is not in all caps.

Regarding your recent post, it is well-written! As a single person too, I could relate with some of the details you mentioned. We love our single life as of now, yet there are some people assuming you’re picky.. and not to forget answering those dreaded questions during large family gatherings.

      1. Thanks much for your feedback, means a lot. I tried to not have the footer in all caps but seems a theme issue…I will continue to explore to fix it. Glad I am not the only one who feels getting singled out on the single status lol! Grass is always greener on the other side 🙂

  7. Recently, I noticed an Xrated site liking my comments on blogs that I commented. The X factor is not one of my followers and does not show up on my blog. I recently blog about this to warn others. I’m not going to put the link of my latest post. You are more than welcome to take a peek.
