Community Pool

Where WordPress bloggers support each other with feedback and advice.

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Looking for more information about custom domains, advanced design options, and other enhancements for your blog? Find the WordPress.com plan that’s right for you.

Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

  1. Hello,

My latest blog post is about my one month update with skin issues I have been dealing with for a year.

    https://someonetodonothingwith.com/2018/02/19/one-month-update/

In general, my blog is for those who have few people in their life or feel lonely with the many they have. I offer my support as a faceless friend and talk about everything you would in life with a friend over a coffee. Come say hi and let’s follow each other!

  2. I have sent post #2 out into the world. The cement is still wet and would appreciate feedback on the look and placement of pictures and the overall formatting. I know there are a million and one ways to adjust them, just want a feel for what direction to head. It is a Christian blog….

    1. I’m not a Christian reader, but I can comment on format. I like the greenish coloring of your website. I would recommend shortening your story to 300-500 words tops. I started to read it, but it was too long. Also, the font is a little bit small, sometimes with different Blog styles you can or cannot increase the font. I would see if you can and then view your Blog in Preview. You’ll see there are extra spaces between the paragraphs. Did you cut paste your text from somewhere else? If yes, do a preview BEFORE you Publish to see how the format is looking.

You seem to have an interesting article, so I am sure you will find like minded Christian readers. Great job! I really like your canoeing photo, it’s very calming on the Lake. http://www.brilliantviewpoint.com

      1. Thank you for the feedback. I did copy and paste from a googledoc. All of your suggestions are worth trying in my opinion. Thanks again.

      2. Sure, you had a good article. I know I try to be a good fellow blogger and visit a lot of different Blogs, which takes time to do… so, if Blogs are too long, I just move on. You wouldn’t want people to do that with your Blog. When I started Blogging I read that Blogs should be between 300-500, which keeps a person’s attention. Since you were looking for some input, I thought I would share that with you.

Blogging is fun! You are on your way!

    1. Hi!
I like the layout of your blog!
I noticed that you don’t have an ‘About’ page. I would definitely suggest you to add one! An ‘About’ page which would talk about you and what your blog aims at will help the visitors understand your blog better!
      Happy blogging!🌹

      1. Thank you for your feedback. I deliberately kept it short as I am working on a blog on the bathroom renovation project and that will have photos and I didn’t want to duplicate stuff as I feel people will just get bored.

  8. I’d like to invite everyone to come by and check out my weekly poem, “Nevermind (A Celebration of Kurt Cobain.)” I wrote this poem a few years ago, and posted it about two years ago. Cobain’s birthday is February 20, and I thought it right to celebrate. Come by, read the poem, and celebrate the life and music of “the prophet of grunge.” Comments and feedback are always welcome, and please leave them in the comments section of the post page, and click the like button on the post page. If you like what you see, feel free to browse around, and follow along so you don’t miss anything as I post several times a week. Thanks in advance.

      1. Wicked has been part of my life for 11 and 1/2 years. I first saw it on Broadway and eventually saw it three times on tour when it came to Charlotte. This musical has changed me “for good”. It sparked my love for musicals and through it I began to understand the emotional and complex. It has matured a lot since the first time I saw it.

I have other Wicked themed posts on my blog.

      2. Wicked did spark my love for musicals, but Les Mis turned that love into a passion. These two are tied at the moment for best musical

  9. I’d like to invite everyone to come by and check out a photography piece, “Flashback to Summer 2017.” I took this photograph in a parking lot over the summer, but never found the time to post it. As February comes to an end and Spring is slowly approaching, let’s look back on what we have to look forward to, in this case, a summer sunset. Comments and feedback are always welcome, and please leave them in the comments section of the post page, and click the like button on the post page.
