Community Pool

Where bloggers come together to give each other feedback and advice.

Have you just published a new post and are dying for some feedback? Are you redesigning your blog and could use some layout or design advice from your more seasoned peers?

The Community Pool is for peer feedback and advice. Looking for more specific information? Check out some of these resources:

Tap into the wisdom of The Daily Post blogging community and leave your question here in the comments. Others can then click through and offer input either on your site, or in the comments here (feel free to indicate which you’d prefer).

Looking for free, self-guided courses to help you get started with your blog (or revive a dormant one)? Check out our current offerings at Blogging U.

To help us make the Community Pool a productive space for discussion, here are some tips and guidelines you might find useful:

  • While you’re not required to, we encourage everyone who requests feedback to also reply to at least one or two other bloggers who need some help. Spread the love!
  • The Community Pool comments section can get quite big — and starting duplicate threads doesn’t help. Thanks for not posting the same question more than once, as well as for not starting numerous threads in a single Pool.
  • If you’re looking for quality feedback, be as specific as you can. Questions about a particular post tend to draw more comments than ones about entire blogs. Questions about specific design elements are more likely to be answered than ones asking for general layout advice.
  • We discourage leaving links without a more substantive message or question. These are often overlooked by other bloggers, and we frequently remove them to make the comment reading experience smoother. Also note that including multiple links in your comment might automatically put it in the moderation queue, which will delay its publication.
  • Please keep all comments civil and constructive. The idea is to have fun — it’s a pool, after all!
  • To keep from losing your place in the comment thread while you visit others’ blogs, right-click on a link to open it in a new tab or window.
  • If you haven’t looked at our Commenting Guidelines in a while, now might be a good time.
  • No running on the deck.

Are you a new blogger looking to share your very first post? We have a special forum for bloggers just like you in our weekly First Friday posts.

  1. Hey guys, happy Monday! I’ve been all about improving myself lately, so here are ten tips to have a happier and overall better life:

10 Steps to A Better Life

Feedback on anything is welcome, but I’d especially like to hear if it actually works or not and if you have anything else that I should have added to the list.

      1. That’s great! I’m really psyched whenever people start pushing themselves. It’s really exciting, especially once you see improvement! (Ah, French. Did you study it in your public school years?)

      2. No actually. I began learning a few years ago with Duolingo and then French podcasts. I improved a lot when I spent a few months in Switzerland but now that I’m back home I have no use for French so I’ve regressed.

  2. Good Afternoon. I’m a young mom trying to blog to have a hobby and share my life experiences. I haven’t signed on for a membership yet until I determine if I’m going to stick with this so the site is plain but any input would be appreciated. Thank you!

  3. Salutations y’all,

I’ve had the idea of starting a science fantasy Web Serial for a little while know and have finally decided that my first part has gone through enough editing to he worthy of presenting.

Let me know what you think. Any comments about pacing and setting would be greatly appreciated. Also title, since I was only able to decide on something right before posting.

  4. I started my blog back in last year and I made it just so I could write. Theres not a particular pattern to it or anything but its a blog where I can connect my thought and display them to my fellow bloggers. I’d really like some feedback if you can take some time out and go over to my website wanderwithnabeel.wordpress.com i’d really appreciate it. thankyou for the visit!

    1. Your posts are far more fun to read than the studies themselves. Your posts are like Public Service Announcements with humor tossed in for good measure. I wasn’t surprised by the results of the study. Have you seen any studies on using foods that are prebiotic (ex. sauerkraut) and how those affect the bateria levels? https://gracelead.co

  5. Hello to all the readers and writers out here!
We all are at times, forced into circumstances where we start feeling insecured and sad. But, we need to understand that beyond every sad emotion, there is always something more to us. Check out my poem to know what I think about this!

    1. If I may nitpick, I couldn’t find any sort of “about me” information. I don’t think you need a whole page, but maybe something short in the sidebar. I’d love to know what kind of education you’re talking about or what journey you’re on…that sort of thing. Am I just missing it? Anyway, I’m enjoying the content!

      1. Hi…thanks for the feedback. I have just noticed that my about page is disappeared as I was customising my blog. It has replaced by social links….how can I get it back?? Any idea???

      2. Hmm… I’m not sure how you had it set up before, but what I’ve done is in the sidebar I have the social media widget and a separate text widget. The about me info lives in the text widget. That seems to work for my layout. Hope that helps. If not, let me know what you see in your sidebar customizer and maybe I can help more…

    1. As someone who’s studying a Geography Degree, sustainability and environmental concerns are at the centre of pretty much every module, with some part of a lecture relating it to climate change, or global issues. I really think that you have created an informative blog, and should definitely look into a study called ‘Systems Dynamics’, which will definitely put your work into even more perspective! Hitting a follow on his blog! Really enjoyed the post about seafood, very interesting, but slightly depressing, which the subject is…unfortunately.

  7. Hello everyone, I’ve had wordpress since January, stating the progress of the book I’m writing, but have time constraints due to University work, work, and other commitments, and would really like some feedback on how my appealing my website is, and whether the content is suitable and in-keeping with the design? Currently trying to expand my fan-base, but since my novel is high-fantasy, I am limited to a certain genre, which makes it all the more difficult to grow. I’m really happy to take on suggestions from my followers, and indeed, the people who follow the Daily Post. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated with these aspects! 🙂
