I’m enjoying the chance to share with others and connect. Writing my own blog has opened the door to learning more about the blogs of others. Which, really, gives me a little window to the other worlds out there.
Each blog is like a little seaside shack beside a beautiful ocean of consciousness.
I just wish I had more time to peruse and write.

Honestly I sometime failed my weekly posting though I’m glad I took the post a week rather than the daily post . But sometime I post more than once in one week. It’s tough enough as it is. However, I do hope I can be better and write better in March onwards.
Too bad my camera went faulty and in need of repair.

I signed up for the postaweek2011 challenge. However, this past month I posted 20 of the 28 days. I have connected with several blogging buddies, who have been a great encouragement to me. I am looking forward to meeting more new blogging buddies this coming month.

My blog is an Art Blog… primarily posts of sketches and paintings which has been a tremendous challenge. The first month I tried to “finish” all of my work and now I am posting my work in stages. It has been really helpful for me to look at my work and watch it progress – sometimes wishing I would have stopped sooner. I think it is more interesting as a blog too. I really appreciate the comments I receive and the support from fellow bloggers.

Still going strong!!!! Thank you, Daily Post, for the encouragement to keep blogging (even though there are days when writer’s block take over and I think I have nothing to share). My biggest accomplishment: my 1000-th visitor and I’m already up to 1,255 – HOLY COW!!!!!!!
Thanks to everyone who visits my site, and I hope you will keep the comments a-coming. I love to hear from visitors.
Have a blessed day and happy blogging!

Thanks for checking in, Erica, and thanks for creating this challenge!
It’s been going very well on this end, so well, I can’t believe I’ve actually been writing and posting everyday for two months. Where did the time go? I’m still trying to figure out why certain topics get the hit do while others don’t get as much.
I haven’t been as consistent with my professional blog – about book publicity and publishing. I had committed to post each week but it’s taking way more effort to keep the content fresh.
Thanks, again!

First and foremost, I’m just proud I have made another month. Unless I’m mistaken I believe I posted every day last year, but I’ve slept since then and with my age I could have miscalculated.
I have so much need for improvement, if I haven’t then I’m sure wearing out a lot of keys.
I believe WordPress is the best thing that has happened since Cracker Jacks.
Thanks for all that you great folks manage for all of us.

when i started post-a-day my view numbers shot up fast. my focus was/is on my work – images – and that was taking me too long to come up with a good one every day so i quickly dropped back to one-a-week and added the tag postaweekormore. that i’ve been able to keep up with easily. clearly i’m some where in between – as i think a lot of one-a-weeker’s probably are.
what i realize is that if i dont include an image with each post, i could do the one-a-day (i just posted one post with all – or most all – of the haiku i wrote in February – in semi-line with NaHaiWriMo – which was close to 50 haiku – so by posting just haiku without image i could probably manage to be posting one a day). i also write in a yard journal most days and have been doing a sketch a day. i’ve also found i do a lot of comments that could easily be posts – i’m sure many people do this.
so yeah, i probably could do one-a-day again. what i am concerned with is that some of my posting might become repetitive and would that lose readers(?) – and would one-a-day becomes my focus rather than my art being my focus(?). i’m a little mixed on this. i do really like posting and blogging and the community here (which is excellent).
another issue is that i am slow and keeping up with comments is a challenge plus getting to a lot of a huge amount of other really great blogs – yeah, the time issue.
all in all – 2 months in and it’s all cool (i just have to get my new header going for March – bwahahahaha) and i’ll just go on doing what i can do. if i alter my blog/blogging a bit – and begin daily postings again… i may step back up to that level – which would be cool. for me it has to be so that i can still do what i want to do rather than just posting a post. …may be? bwahahaha – but then, that’s what we’ll find out.
…and of course if i could learn to become succinct rather than ramble… ha, good luck on that one. sheesh. cool on all the blog help and btw, i’m liking the weekly photo challenge a lot (which so far has also led to haiku and haiga) in my own way of course. – aloha. . .

Yes!!! A lot has changed since the Daily Post was started. Infact just yesterday I posted what a difference it has made to my blogging. I hope the WordPress team keeps coming up with new ideas so that we bloggers are always kept on our toes 🙂
And the article that I posted is here for anyone who’s interested to read 🙂

I am really excited to join this challenge… The challenge is kinda my pride and it matches any personal blog to encourage writing more and more. It teaches me to write more spontaneously and more frequent.
Anyway, I also invited colleagues to join this challenge… So far, they made it. Glad to know that 🙂

Thank you Erika and Scott,
It has been a wondrous ride and I am happy I joined the blogging troops. I wrote my February review and I have no regrets. 🙂
Thank you both!

Just getting into the habit of forcing myself to write more often has been a tremendous boon personally. I’ve enjoyed the creative outlet and have had fun while I’ve striven to become more consistent.

A WORDPRESS IDEA!
Wordpress has come out with the unique & brilliant idea of “The Daily Post” which has got bloggers all over the world including me hooked on to blogging. About 2 months ago they came up with this concept & the results are here for everyone to see! They have two categories “The Post a Day” & “The Post A Week” Challenges. There are more bloggers posting new articles & there are even more readers now…. So i decided to take this initiative a step further. Everyone wants to be appreciated for their efforts including me so I thought why not have a poll to decide some of the best posts! Not every blogger gets featured on the “FEATURED POSTS” or the “FRESHLY PRESSED” though Im sure that each & every blogger does go & visit those two pages after “publishing” a post. So I thought why not have poll & let the bloggers themselves decide which is the best post.
Now the “post a day” makes it practically impossible to go through every blog for the particular topic. So it wouldnt be fair on the ones who are left out.So I thought why not go for the “WEEKLY PHOTO CHALLENGE” coz that makes it much easier to cover each & every blog for the theme of the week. As you know during a week there are atleast 100 posts so ill go through everyone of those & post the best 6 to 8 for the voting process.I’ll begin the 1st poll with the very 1st topic “Boundaries” & keep a period of 1 week for the voting process at the end of which we’ll know which post recieved the maximum votes.
I hope WordPress takes over this initiative after this poll to conduct more such surveys to encourage the bloggers even more & keep them more interested!

I am doing a post everyday. It has been chugging along. I tend to write about my day-to-day stuff, which looking back isn’t bad, but, I need to liven it up a bit. I am also supposed to be posting a pic of myself a day as a friend of mine is also doing that. Does a pic of my hand count? Haha I hope so.

Most chuffed that I haven’t missed a single day.
That, so far, I’ve thought of a genuine (not filler) subject each day.
That all blogs are less than 500 words, mostly 300 – 400.
That nearly all have my original photos only.
and I love the final template that I chose – crisp, clean and very easy to read. no superfluous lists all over the place!
and that I’ve attracted 4 subscribers. Roll on another 3 for next month!

Well, as long as I remember that every daily photograph does not have to be brilliant, so far so good. Now all i have to do is really learn all the internet ins and outs…

So far, it’s going fine. Haven’t missed a day. I’ve become better at storing away topics in my drafts. Before this started, I always forgot my ideas.

This challenge is great and I’m enjoying it very much thanks to everyone.
But I have an opinion.
The WordPress’s blogs that I read everyday is one third.
Other bloggers can’t join this challenge.
Are there any methods for every bloggers?
I’m sorry that my opinion is out of focus.

There are good, and there are bad days. All in all, a wonderful experience thus far. And I’ve met some really awesome bloggers who are onto this challenge as well. Though we never officially signed up with one another as blogging partners, they have been really supportive!

I started my blog in May 2010 but it was not until I signed up to the
Postaday/Postaweek Challenge that I really had any contact with other
bloggers. The wordpress challenge created a great community of
bloggers and “buddies” who now support each other on a daily/weekly
basis.
Classy Rose (one of my blogging buddies) of “Things in life I find
annoying” then created “The RandomBlog2011 Challenge”
To encourage bloggers to visit new blogs every week. I’ve found this a
great way to discipline myself to visit even more blogs covering a
wide range of interests and writing styles.
The highlight of the last two months was when my post “Gazanias in
January” was “Freshly Pressed”
http://pigletinportugal.wordpress.com/2011/01/10/gazinas-in-january/
I was overwhelmed by the response and kind comments. Thanks to
everyone who dropped by!
I’ve also been asked to write a monthly column for a large Expat
website plus one of my posts is due to be published on Expatica
another website for Expats.
Prior to the WordPress Challenge I only posted about 3 times a month –
now it’s 3 times a week as I’m far more organised. This is all thanks
to the “challenge”
Thanks WordPress for getting me off my “butt” !
PS I love the Weekly Photo challenge it would also be nice to have one
for “recipes” to encourage food bloggers PiP

Hi PiP and thanks. You were the first blogging buddy I connected with and I appreciate all your support and encouragement. You’ve always been there for me.
It was great seeing you “Freshly Pressed” in January and I was so happy for you and I’m glad you’re enjoying the RandomBlog2011 Challenge. 🙂
Anyone can join the challenge. I started it during Random Acts of Kindness Week last month.
Check out this page for more information. 🙂

I am loving it! I have been posting at least once a week without fail and though it might not be as much as those who are posting daily, I’m proud of the effort.
Scheduling posts and writing down every single idea I get (whether it looks good or not) have been great tools.
Lets keep this up 🙂

Month 2 went by REALLY quickly actually! Not just because it’s a shorter month, but I didn’t feel it was as daunting of a task to blog every day! It just flew by!

I agree but I think I am getting better at focusing on my art, and getting started. This is a great opportunity to see what is possible!

I can’t believe two months have passed and I’m still enjoying writing in the postaweekchallenge. My goal now is to switch to the postadaychallenge by my birthday in June so I’ve got 3 months to get up to speed. I’m enjoying being able to be held to task to write by my blogging buddies and I’m learning more and more about my process. So thank you for creating this challenge and congrats to everyone else who is participating in either one.
