Topic #51
Today’s topic is brought to you by Plinky.com:
When you’re feeling down, what music cheers you up?
Bonus: why do you think this music has that effect? What music do you prefer when you’re very happy?

Anything upbeat that makes me want to dance and I like listening to the oldies from the 50’s and 60’s. 🙂

Irish music gets me moving and when I’m moving – I’m feeling better!
If there’s no Irish music nearby, it’s time for Huey Lewis and the News!

This may sound weird but, those hit songs by Lady Gaga always puts me in a good mood. That awesome beat… I can’t help but… just dance.

When I am feeling down or feeling happy I love to listen to Gospel Music and Country Music. I especially love to listen to those singers that I personally know that have made recordings. I also enjoying listening to the oldies but goodies 94.5 out of Kansas City.

I’d say Contemporary Christian or Classical.

I’m looking forward to reading some posts on this – I am in a musical vacuum right now – suggestions for a reluctant musician to listen to welcome!

I posted a daily post earlier today and surprisingly that was related to music.
How coincident!

Answer in brief: A random playlist of English songs.

Michael Jackson’s songs always lift my spirit when I’m low; when I’m high, his music makes me soar. The rythmn and the lyrics combine to move me, body and soul. Can’t help “getting down with my bad self now and then!” Learned that from my 24-year-old daughter, the professional dancer.
dancing backup to MJ in my next life…hugmamma. 🙂

Olá,é uma resposta difícil, mas vou responder, quando fico triste ou com raiva, eu choro, e ouço o cantor Luciano Pavarotti que adoro, resultado choro mais e vem mais tristesa. Mas depois passa.

I don’t really listen to any special kind of music when I’m sad…
And hurrah for me, I’ve decided to start participating in Post A Day 2011 😀
Here’s the first of my Post A Day posts: http://wp.me/p18cIY-ac
I was blogging before too (but not daily), so there is some non-music related topics in it too 🙂

Eerie. I was just thinking about this topic this morning. I wrote about ways to improve a person’s writing instead. I still might write about this later.

When I am feeling down, music doesn’t cheer me, it does when I am feeling good! I listen to sad songs when feeling down 🙂

Woah! I haven’t really been keeping up with the Daily Posts because I chose to post daily about things more directly related to my theme, or just about me, but yesterday I posted exactly this without knowing it was the suggested topic for the day…
Spooky… 😛

Sadly I beat you to a similar theme back in January … check it out!
Still thinking about what else I could write about today – only a couple of hours left for inspiration.

Emmylou Harris. Her voice can make any day better even as she is singing songs of grief and longing. I also find guitar shredding Neil Young music to be a good pick me up.
When I am happy – world music especially Arab Pop and South American Garage Rock. Plus the Stones and Lady Gaga.
Go figure.

I think we’ve been here before with what would you take to a desert island but hey ho, my choices are all fairly current ex chart type sounds.
When I had my Bang & Olufsen shop customers would ask to hear Songbird by Eva Cassidy, although a beautiful tune it always prompted my sales assistant son to mime slashing his wrist. It was that kind of a song.
Happy days.

Anything from the 90’s. Anything that reminds me of being a kid. Anything silly (ex: Spice Girls, Ace of Base, ect). Love the nostalgia behind it.
