The New and Improved Jetpack Mobile Editor
After introducing the Jetpack Mobile app earlier this year, we’re focused on making it the best WordPress experience on your mobile device. We’ve started by updating the design of the mobile editor.
Below we walk you through the changes we’ve made that streamline your writing and editing experience on mobile. You’ll find these improvements when your app updates to version 22.9.
Fresh color palette
We’ve replaced soft blue tones with a striking black and white style, which not only looks cleaner but is simply easier to see as well. Overall, we’ve aligned our styles more closely to the WordPress.com desktop experience, including the more familiar block inserter button.
Cleaner top navigation
We’ve hidden the site title to make room for global actions like “Undo.” Your site icon is shown next to the back arrow, where you can tap to leave the editor. We’ve also added a border to clearly separate the navigation bar from your content.
Faster media insertion
We’ve added in-line media blocks when you have no other block selected, so you can add an image or video faster without opening the full block list.
More space to write
We’ve hidden the blue border around the paragraph block while you’re typing to let you focus on writing.
Unified block controls
It used to be that some block controls were shown on top of the block, taking space from your content. Now all the block controls live in the toolbar, with the settings icon up first.
New ways to move blocks
The up and down arrows, which move blocks within your posts and pages, have moved to the right side of the toolbar. And if you missed it, we introduced drag and drop last year, so you can move blocks manually.
More to come
You’ll find these improvements when your app updates to version 22.9.
We’ll be continuing to make improvements to the mobile editor. In the meantime, we’d love to hear what you like, what challenges you’ve encountered, and any ideas you have. It may very well shape what we work on next.
Yesss I love it

Good 👍 but when are you going to work with it so it’s going smooth with it over iMac 🖥️ where I’m at most of my time?

Hi,
What specific issues are you having with the editor on your mac? What browser are you using? Does it happen if you try a different browser? Are you using any browser extensions? Can you try disabling them and seeing if that changes things?

I am always using Safari and don´t want to use another browser. I would say that WordPress should see that it’s working with every browser and especially Safari that is one of the safest. Many times it take up to minutes before it shift to another file, when I´m editing an article. That is bad!

Hey there! Please reach out to us here, so that we can take a look at the site, and also the browser conditions so that we can look to see what could be happening there. Many thanks!

Hi there, I can confirm that you have had our Personal Plan for many years now, so you should not have received that answer. I took a look at your recent support contacts and was not able to spot that incorrect reply, but if you will reach us again we’re happy to take a closer look. You can choose either our forums or private email support (which is a perk of your plan.)

Hey there, we’ll certainly look to turn this around – to check, have you responded via different emails? This will help us to track down your support history accurately. Many thanks!

I got this aug 5, Hi there,
Thanks for contacting WordPress.com!
It looks like you have a free WordPress.com account.
Websites on our free plan have unlimited access to our community forum. The best way to get help is to open a new forum thread.
If that doesn’t sound like you, here’s how to get help:
– If you have a paid WordPress.com plan, please make sure you’re logged into your account and contact us through this form. We’ll get back to you as soon as possible.
– If you’re having trouble logging into your account, you can reset your password by heading here. If you’re still having trouble logging in or aren’t sure of your account credentials, head to our account recovery form and we’ll look into it for you.
– If you can’t find your WordPress.com site, it could be that you’re hosting it with a different provider. In that case, you’ll need to reach out to their support team directly. You can use this third-party service to check where your site is hosted.
– If you’re having any issues renewing your purchases, feel free to reply back to this email, and one of our Happiness Engineers will be happy to assist you.
Thanks,
– The WordPress.com Support Team

That does sound like you may have more than one account.
When you reach out to support for help with your paid plan, can you ensure you’re logged into the one associated with the upgrade? The email address you see on the account page should match the one that gets renewal reminders and whatnot.

Nice, but to me, Jetpack app for reading only, as I still prefer using my laptop to create posts (besides, I prefer classic editor, not blocks 😅).

Thanks for letting us know what you think. We hope we can make the mobile editor easier for you to use, as well as your laptop. But reading is a great reason to use the app too. We hope to take up some work on the Reader soon to improve your reading experience as well.
If you’d like to share any more feedback about the Reader or the Block Editor, we can talk to you through the app. Open the Jetpack app and navigate to My Site > Me (your profile picture) > Help & Support > Contact Support

Could you please fix the bug in the app that crashes it every time you upload a featured image while trying to do a blog post?

Dear Sir,
For many years my account has not been accessed by me due to computer breakdown which I was unable to have the same repaired or replaced due to economic reasons and barely surviving even with sporadic help from my blood relatives. Coincidentally, due to the long time period that has elapsed since I last accessed your site, I could no longer remember my password and thus, unable to access my own page in WordPress.
Could you help me find a solution to this predicament?

I’m writing to express my frustration with the recent changes to the mobile editor. It’s become increasingly unintuitive for simple tasks like changing text from a paragraph to a header. Instead of a smooth transition, it often creates new blocks. Also, if I delete the extra line of text, it turns the paragraph above into a header, and the undo function doesn’t fix it. Similarly, changing headers back to paragraphs results in new blocks, requiring copying of the original text. The streamlined process is gone. Either allow opting for the old editor or fix these problems in the current one. Deleting blocks has also become tedious. I’ve switched to using my computer, defeating the purpose of using the app on my iPad initially. Please address these issues.

Hi there, thanks for taking the time to write this feedback. I am going to test the issues you reported about creating blocks inadvertently when you change between paragraph/heading, and when you delete blocks.
Your point about deleting blocks is a good one. In the new design, this is a little bit harder to access, having to scroll on the toolbar first to reach the options menu. I’ll see if there’s anything we can do to make that easier.

Hi again Dale. One of the developers and I tried to reproduce the issues you mentioned around blocks changing and adding inadvertently when you transform or remove blocks. We haven’t been able to recreate them.
Are you seeing this on iPad? Would you be open to sending us a video of your experience, or exact steps to reproduce? It might be easier to continue the conversation via our support by going to My Site > Me (your profile picture) > Help & Support > Contact Support. Or if that doesn’t work just let me know more details here and I can follow up again. Thanks.

I was able to determine the exact cause. When you are on both iPone and iPad it does the same thing. When you have a header block, and you use the delete or back button on the virtual keyboard, it will remove the header block and turn the block that you transfer into the header. This is what I realized happens that turned my paragraph into a header. I learned to just long press and remove block instead of using the backspace on the virtual keyboard. On the old version it only removed the block and did not take you directly into the paragraph or any other block. That is what may be causing the blocks to adopt the style and change it.
