WordPress.com login will not recognize my username, email or password
-
I have 2 wordpress.com accounts. Fortunately I was able to log in with this account. However, ALL of my stuff is with my other account. When I tried to log in, it wouldn’t recognize my password, so I tried to recover my password. When I did that it said there was no account with that username. Then, I tried my email address and it wouldn’t recognize that either.
I tried the account recovery system, but it said I had to have either a transaction ID, an activation URL or key or a two factor authentication code. I’ve never heard of any of that stuff. I have been using my wordpress.com account for years. Is all this stuff brand new? Did I miss something?

And exactly what is the username of that account?
Also what are the URLs of the blogs registered under it? -
Are you aware of the two very different wordpress sites? I think you could be referring to a wordpress.ORG username account. We provide support only for wordpress.COM hosted blogs.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.

WordPress.org support docs are at https://codex.wordpress.org/Main_Page -
I figured the .org and .com question might come up. I should’ve clarified that in my original post. Yes, it is a .com site.
My username for my wordpress.com account is stevepederson.
One of my sites on that account is http://letsthinkspiritually.wordpress.com.
I have the Jetpack plugin on most of my websites, which use the username stevepederson to access the features from my wordpress.com account. It’s strange, because those plugins are working fine. They are connected to my account.

Thanks for taking a look into this. It’s been a couple of days now, and I have not received an email with a password reset link.
-
Hmm, I’ve verified the email was delivered. Can you search your spam / bulk / social folders to see if the password reset is there? This will be in your other email address.
-
okay, I found the email. But, when I clicked on the ‘Reset Password’ button, I got a message saying, “Sorry, that key does not appear to be valid.”
I thought maybe it was a problem with Chrome, so I copied and pasted the URL into Firefox and got the same error message.
Is there an expiration time on the link?
-
okay, and this just in. I think it is a problem with Chrome. I just tried resetting my password using Firefox, and sure enough, I was able to generate my own password reset email. Once I reset the password, I was able to log in with Firefox. However, when I went to try to log in with that same username and password using Chrome, I was not able to log in. Strange.

Hi, now that you know where to look for that email, you’ll want to go ahead and request a new password reset link, then use it right away. Cheers!
