why do wordpress customer service / support or whatever its called not reply?

  • Why do wordpress customer service / support or whatever you want to call it not reply when you write to them with a problem?
I wrote a couple of days ago because for many years my statistics for my posts has been completely broken.
A typical example of this is I posted a post a day ago, and 3 people I know viewed the post almost immediately, because they told me and asked questions about the content of the post.
19 hours later the stats for the post shows 2 views only. I cant imagine how many more views have been ignored seeing as the posts are posted in many places online.
The statistics for views to my posts has been like this for as long as I remember, and I started this blog in 2011, but I couldn’t be bothered to sort it out until now, as numerous other faults exist with this site. Even when I do write I get no response. How does one complain about this? Any ideas?

  • Sorry you’re having these problems. First, questions on the forums are mostly answered by volunteers with staff coming in to help when we can’t deal with something. You can help by adding a few relevant tags to your query so that people with expertise in that particular topic will be more likely to see it. You can also add the ‘modlook’ tag so that a member of the WordPress.com staff will see it.

It always takes time for questions to be answered here. That’s not an excuse, just a fact.

Here is some information that might help on your stats problem:
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/stats/#viewsvisitors

If that doesn’t help, try a search (on Google is best) for previous queries in the forums that have been answered to similar questions. How to do that is to put this

    site:https://en.forums.wordpress.com
then a space and then your search keywords or phrase, for instance stats discrepancy in views and visits

I hope that helps. If not, come back, put ‘modlook’ in the tag field at the right side here, subscribe to follow up posts by email and wait for their response. Be aware that it’s best to avoid weekends when staff are rarely here.

Oh and by the way, you can see the questions you’ve previously posted to the forum, and their answers, here: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/profile/butlincat

  • Here is a screenshot taken on 2 june 16 1 hour after writing this post, showing 2 views for this particular post uploaded 19 hrs. earlier. I alone looked at the post more than twice after uploading it = http://i511.photobucket.com/albums/s357/butlincat/wordpress%202june_zps3vnylrx1.jpg

  • Hi there,

I’ve had a look at your site and run some tests and I can’t see any problems with your stats. One possible explanation for what you’ve observed is some of your readers might have viewed the post in the WordPress.com Reader. These views are not counted in the stats; they would need to click through to your site to be counted. Your own views are also not counted.

You can run a quick test by signing out of WordPress.com or visiting your site with a browser you’re not currently signed into. Then check the stats after that.
Views are reported within five minutes so you should see it reflected in the stats fairly quickly. But it won’t work if you’re signed into WordPress.com.

You can read more about how the stats are calculated here:
