Website Pages Magement

  • 1) When I try to delete a page, it says ‘the link you followed has expired’
    2) Every time it shows different number of pages in ‘All’,’Mine’,’Published’,etc
    3) Some pages are directing to different themes and others are on other themes, not sure how to change that

  • Hi there,

Could you possibly share the URL of your site?

    1) How are you trying to delete the page? By going to My Site > Site > Pages, finding the page, clicking on the three dots and clicking ‘Bin’, or are you going to the page’s editor, opening the Document Settings and deleting it under ‘Move to Bin’? I’ve never had trouble with the first method before, so try that if you haven’t already.

    2) Do you mean that the number of pages in ‘All’ is different to the number of pages in ‘Mine’ and ‘Published’, or that it will show you one number in ‘All’ and when you reload the page, it shows a different number?
If it’s the first, it could be that another user (either Editor or Administrator) has published pages. Are there any other users on your site? You may also have some draft pages.
If it’s the second, it could be that sometimes it loads every page you’ve published and sometimes not.
To sort these problems out, perhaps try clearing cache and cookies, updating your browser, and if that doesn’t work try on a different browser.

    3) Do you mean pages of your website? I’m not sure why they would be ‘directing to different themes’ as your site should all be one theme. What do you mean by ‘some pages are directing to different themes’?

  • Thanks for the quick response

    URL : https://artisticallyaparna.com/

    1) I did not use the “My site” page, and it worked… thanks

    2) Its the 2nd, and I tried clearing cache before- no use… but this is not a major issue if point 1 works

    3) If you go to my website, the homepage “About Me” is in one theme… Click on “Gallery” and it will take you to a different theme/color page. (that was my old theme which I was trying).

  • Hi again @artisticallyaparna,

    Thanks for your reply.

However, I double checked and it looks like your site might not be hosted on WordPress.com (Automattic) but on either BlueHost or GoDaddy.
If this is the case, and you use WordPress.org to build the site (I think you might do as the ‘Powered by WordPress’ link leads to WordPress.org), you’ll actually need to go to their forums to get further support: https://wordpress.org/support/forums/.
This support document explains the difference: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/.

However, this is a theme-related issue and it says the theme is a WordPress.com theme. I’ve tagged this thread for staff attention to see if they are able to help. If not, the WordPress.org forums are probably the best place to ask.

  • Thanks, I shall try @ Org too

  • Thank you @writer0001.

    @artisticallyaparna
, for what it’s worth I’m seeing the same theme on all pages. Bear in mind pages are handled differently from posts. You can compare on the site here:
