    Thankyou for your help.

I read the info on domain mapping but I am still having trouble. I have a domain registered but haven’t created a website for it yet. I wanted to call my blog the same and then when I do get a website I can then link it to the site. Just for now I wanted to start with the blog. Is there still a way that I can have the address without the wordpress extension included. I hace a friend who has one but we are both new to all this and she can’t remember how she did it.

  • You’re welcome. Your free blog will be a subdomain of wordpress.com, which is why the urls are structured as they are. The only way to mask that is to point another domain name to it. You can’t have the same name for two sites (if I read correctly your statement I wanted to call my blog the same)

You could have blog/yourdomain.com, so that might work. I know subdomains have been discuased a lot here on the forum and I believe there’s information in either the FAQ or Support docs, both of which are linked to at the top of this page.

    Thankyou once again.

I think I will probably need to find someone to walk me through the procedure as I do it. I will get the hang of all this one day.
