oh yes definitely, but only if the translation’s acceptable. my friend was complaining about babelfish, but then again automated translations are never going to be accurate, but at least it could of a better standard. the way i write also happens to screw up the translation too, because i don’t write simple, straightforward sentences.

just replace my url (sulz.wordpress.com) at the end with your own url. u have to put it in a link tag of course.

I’m a future reader. It has partially worked for me. I can see my blog in English at last! But the sidebar is gone, unless you click a post. What I am doing wrong? (the link is currently at the bottom of the sidebar). Thanks in advance for your help.

i viewed your blog via firefox with no problems at all, and the link works too. is the sidebar still playing hide and seek?

I’m trying to do this as well. The link to the nylusmilk site seems to translate page 1 only. I need to adapt Babelfish to do every page. The Babelfish site gives me this javascript:
<script language="JavaScript1.2" src="http://www.altavista.com/static/scripts/translate_engl.js"></script>
But when I put that into a text widget, the widget won’t save the code. Why is that? I’m feeling pretty stupid here. Thanks.

Because javascript is disabled at wordpress.com. It will not work at all. That’s why we have to do these workarounds.

(Also, in future you might not want to bump resolved threads, because most people don’t read them)

Jtingey: As raincoaster said, we cannot use javascript here. What I did was to copy the url of the translation, which is why it only translates the front page only. If you want to translate all your posts/pages, you probably have to do it manually. This is not practical, since you would be updating your blog constantly.

sulz, it keeps doing it. But I saw it today on a pc (I’m a Mac) and it looks almost fine…. I’ll contact support about this because I’ve been having other problems in the last 2 days, maybe the’re all related. Txs a lot.
