Hi! I can read the buttons, but they do disappear on hover. This seems to be a bug & I’ll get that reported.
You could switch to another theme if you’d like, in the meantime. Any of the newer themes should work.

We have reported the issue to our developers, but I’m afraid we don’t have a timeline of when this will be fixed.

Hi there @somyadhiman,
One thing you could try in the meantime is to add a styling override to the button hover state.
To do so, try the following:
- Go to Appearance
- Click on Customize
- Click Additional CSS
Now you should see a box with a 1. in it (unless there are other styles setup already – this number would then be higher). In this box, enter the following:
.wp-block-button__link:active, .wp-block-button__link:focus, .wp-block-button__link:hover, .wp-block-button__link:visited {background-color: #2b2b2b;}
- Finally, click Save changes and check the front-end of the site.
In case you need it for future reference, a link to the how-to guide can be seen below:

@rbgly, thank you for the workaround. Unfortunately, adding custom CSS on a Free WordPress.com site is not possible.
@somyadhiman, you’d need to update to use that code. -
@staff-mckluskey, thanks for the clarification :)
@somyadhiman, apologies for the confusion from my side!
