Structure theme: remove below menu
-
Hi there, I’d like to remove the option of showing my latest post on the menu below. Can someone help me?
I did a print screen so that you understand what I am taking about:http://img703.imageshack.us/i/imagem2c.png/
There’s the left menu (with author) and the right one (with categories) and in the middle there’s the latest post. I’d like to remove that and/or add other options to that space, like calendar or anything really.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Please read this article so you are clear on how the theme is structured to operate. http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2010/05/01/introduction-to-structure/

We cannot edit themes or templates on our wordpress.com blogs.http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/editing-themes/
If you have CSS editing experience, you can get the paid custom CSS upgrade and renew it annually. It will allow you to stylize the appearance of themes you find here > Appearance > Themes, but it does not allow you to change the functionality, by editing the underlying template. Also note that CSS is theme specific, so you cannot use the CSS stylesheets from other themes with the themes here at wordpress.COM.
Since there is no official Staff support for the CSS upgrade, and precious little Volunteer support, I recommend that you don’t buy the upgrade unless you have at least moderate understanding of HTML and CSS because you must be prepared to do the work on your own.
If you are considering purchasing the upgrade, you can go to Appearance > Edit CSS. There wordpress has provided a preview function where you can try before you buy.

No, I’d just like to remove the middle thing. That is, since the post is already up (top page) why the hell would I want also down there? I’d like to add other stuff in that bottom middle space (where there is the image from the post I did and the text).
The left, with author and the right, with categories, I’d like to keep it.

To do that, or even just to remove the center post area, would take the paid CSS upgrade and some CSS editing experience, but with the CSS upgrade it is not difficult to make that stuff go away.
The one thing about doing this is that there will be no way for people to access older posts on your site as the “older posts” link that would appear if you had more than one post will go away as well.

Oh, I see. Finally some help :D
I’m kind of annoyed by this theme, really. It was so perfect for what I wanted… I’d have just that main one post and link others in the menu (I’m doing a big article and would separated like that and leaving the main post like a “cover”). Everything was fine till I saw that bottom center menu…
Guess I’ll have to search for another theme.
Thanks @TSP.

Finally some help!
Say what?
I posted help here. > https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/structure-theme-remove-below-menu?replies=7#post-569182
lol :D -
Adding something different to that area becomes tricky, since Structure does not include page specific classes or IDs in the CSS. Basically what would have to happen is you put whatever you want in the center main area into a text widget in the left sidebar (which only appears on the main page) and then you have to use position absolute and left and top declarations to move it over and into the center area and then declare a width and height to make it fill the area.
