Signing up with free domain

    Hello . I’ve received email offers to upgrade and get free domain for the year etc. When I click on the plan I choose my site ( which has currently .wordpress.com in title) Will this disappear once I pay or am I paying to host the .wordpress.com domain only

    A paid plan gives you the option of a custom domain address that can become the primary address of your existing site. The .wordpress.com subdomain address will remain in the background and would be available again if you ever downgraded back to a free plan.
