Related function not showing
-
So…I want to add the related function thing that shows beneath every post. I went to Settings then Reading, and scrolled down to related posts. I turned ON the related thingie, but when I look at my posts in a different tab (as if I’m a user), it doesn’t show. How can I fix this??
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Perhaps something similar to this: https://theperksofbeingnourablog.wordpress.com/2018/06/22/the-cruel-prince-the-folk-of-the-air-1-by-holly-black-spoiler-free-review/
scroll almost all the way down -
Hi,
Related post should be generated automatically if your site meet the requirements.
- At least 10 published posts (to avoid simply cross-linking posts with one another).
- At least 500 bytes (about 100 words) per post
- Must not be using a theme that already has a built-in related feature (like Traveler or Opti). For those themes the feature is disabled.
- The site must be public and not in Coming soon or Private mode.
You might want to consult this page for further info. https://wordpress.com/support/related-posts/
I hope this helps.
Cheers. -
Strange, all my posts are over 500 words, definitely over 10 posts, and my site is public. Does Russell have a built-in related feature? I don’t think so…
Thanks anyway -
Hi there,
Russell is one of our new block themes built for the site editor, and doesn’t have Related Posts built in by default, but you can add it.
Open the site editor at Appearance ->Editor. Click the template title at the top, click Browse All Templates, and select the Single Post template.
That’s the template that controls how posts on your site appear, and any change you make to that template, will affect all posts on your site. So if you add the Related Posts block to that template, it will display those at the bottom of every post.
Once you’re on the Single Post template, click the three lines top-left to expand the List View which shows all the blocks in that template. I recommend adding the Related Posts block between the Group blocks for the post content and post comments – that’s consistent with where most older themes typically display Related Posts. But if you want is somewhere else, that’s your choice – the great thing about the site editor is that it allows you to tweak your theme’s templates to make it look however you want :)
Once you’ve added the block, click the Settings icon top-right to control how the related posts themselves are displayed.
You can find more information on the Related Posts block here:

And if you’d like an overview on how to use the site editor to modify your theme’s templates, you can see here:

Let me know if you have any questions :)
