redirect old site to new plan

  I have a free xxx.wordpress.com plan. I would purchase the personal plan with this domain xxx.com. My question is how to redirect the free site to the new plan? is this done automatically ? Or I have to pay for it?

  Just upgrade the site to the personal plan by adding the domain name.
  https://wordpress.com/domains/add

  Check the items on left hand side of checkout page:
  1. Personal plan for 1year
  2 your domain

  Your previous site with(xxx.wordpress.com) will then be on personal plan with your domain xxx.xom

  Thanks. So after upgrading if ppl click on xxx.wordpress.com instead of xxx.Com it will automatically redirect them to xxx.Com or have also to pay for that?

  You just need to add this domain to your site while purchasing and after adding make this domain as primary then if anyone enters xxx.wordpress.com it will redirect to xxx.com

  Hi there,

  Just want to confirm as @shubhamgmath said above, if you add a domain to your site we automatically redirect links from the free address to the custom domain. You don’t need to do anything else.
