Problems loading WP

My blog is having trouble loading. The posts in the bottom wont always load. Sometimes the widgets wont load. This has been going on for months. Today it spread to the admin’s pages. “All posts” and “Edit post” can’t load – takes forced loading (ctrl+F5) several times to put it right. Anyone else? What should I do?

(Replace 0 with 1, reload, then with 2, reload). -
Your site was real slow to load and had to wait for links to other sites to load and connect – that can be an issue also and keep things from working – try fixing your load time,make it quicker

Yes, it loaded just fine. The Follow widget is sitting at the bottom but the rest is ok. Most other WP blogs also load ok. But perhaps it has to do with themes?

@ auxclass: I have had the same widgets for years. And when it started several months ago I did reduce the number of posts shown on the first page. But yes, it is a slow load and it is not just me as you found out…

You have a lot of YouTube videos, try putting them after the More Tag. Each video requires your site to link a new link to YouTube. The More Tag would also make the front page shorter and returning visitors would not need to load stuff they have already viewed.

The problem started several months ago. I did not always have those videos on page one – I add new posts daily. In the periods where I had no videos on the first page the problem was the same.

Above my pay-grade for exactly what is happening – but your site seems to sit while loading like it is waiting for something to happen – I watched my bandwidth monitor and it did not have a big peak for large pictures – has to be one of your outside links being slow to respond – maybe one of the others here has a good diagnostic tool and they can tell you if any links are hanging.

Thanks. Strangely enough it sometimes happens on the admins pages also. And they do not have outside links…

About admins pages – I use httpS. Could have some to do with it…
How are you connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com? The way you connect to the internet (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) and to your blog, and how many proxy server jumps etc. it takes to connect can cause problems. There maybe be problems with your ISP and/or with the proxy servers.

Which browser and version of it are you using? Have your tried clearing your browser cache and cookies? http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/#clear-your-cache-and-cookies

Cache & cookies was cleared hundreds of times during the many months I have had this problem, as I wrote in my second comment. I have XP Home and IE8 is the latest for that OS. IE9 is not compatible. I have a xDSL connection as I have had all the time I’ve been blogging WP.
XP, Flash, Java and all other programs are fully updated.
As written above other people have the same problem with my blog. From several countries…

I’m on the same set up and as I use Firefox rather than IE8 I don’t have these problems at all. If you wish you can download another browser, either Firefox or Chrome as they work.

I have experienced the same problems on accessing various blogs – Although I do find if I use opera browser and enable turbo mode, the pages load. If I disable turbo mode then the pages don’t load. The only problem with using Opera turbo it seems to hinder editing posts on the dashboard.

So: I did buy myself a new PC. Windows 7 and IE9. Fully updated. Java, Flash etc. fully updated. And the stupid blog is still having trouble loading. The Admin’s pages especially. Ad new post page for example.Use httpS.
Now what?

Sadly, however much I love wordpress, I’ve given up on wordpress.com for building a website. It was impossible to build a website because of slow loading or inability to access the dashboard. There seems to be a lot of people with this problem but no solution offered anywhere, so I’ve moved to weebly.com they also allow you to produce a free website also with blog capabilities.
