Old site path is connected

  • i moved my site (that I’m hosting in my own servers) from a subdirectory to the main domain and i cannot change it in wordpress.com. I cannot connect now from my website or change it in my profile in wordpress.com and I am lost. Jetpack is not working, i cannot login to my wordpress site via the app etc since its not finding my site

    any ideas?

  • Hi there,

At what URL is your site located now?

You should be able to just disconnect and reconnect Jetpack from within WP-Admin.

If you’re unable to reconnect, there’s likely something on your site or hosting provider’s end preventing reconnection. If you give the site URL I can check that for you.

  • It was at babybaskets.gr/wp now it’s at babybaskets.gr
While it was under the wp directory everything was working fine. Now that i moved it it’s not connecting.

I disconnected and tried to connect again and nothing happened

The Jetpack server was unable to communicate with your site https://babybaskets.gr [HTTP 403]. Ask your web host if they allow connections from WordPress.com. If you need further assistance, contact Jetpack Support: http://jetpack.com/support/

    Thank you!!!

  • Hmm, I can’t even get your site itself to load at http://babybaskets.gr/

And a 403 error indicates Jetpack is actively being blocked from making a connection. This most likely means your host is blocking access to XML-RPC on the server, which prevents Jetpack from communicating with it.

Please contact your hosting provider’s support to make sure your site is correctly configured at that domain, and that XML-RPC is switched on and not being blocked.

You can find more information on this here:

    Jetpack

  • It’s working at https://babybaskets.gr you should be able to see it!

How come it was working in the sub directory and not working on the main website?

  • Nevermind it was rsfirewall that caused all issues.

thank you for your assistance. The url with the fixing connection issues helped!

  • Glad you got it sorted out!
