No ads ripoff

  • Note also that the ads here should be “family friendly” – report any that are not – a few years ago some “dating” sites that were no more that tourist junkets to SE Asia to visit bordellos that catered to child prostitution made it in under the radar and in violation of the advertisers terms of service – they were quickly removed when reported

  • travelingforart, to support the service (and keep free features free), we sometimes run advertisements, and the agreement for this has been in our terms of service since 2006.

We try hard to only run them in limited places. If you would like to completely eliminate ads from appearing on your blog, we offer the No-Ads Upgrade: http://store.wordpress.com/premium-upgrades/ad-free/

The domain you purchased only pays for the domain registration itself. It does not cover the service costs, like hosting, hardware, bandwidth, personnel, etc, which are covered by the ads and the $30/year ($2.50/month) No-Ads Upgrade.

Ads will remain family-friendly, and if you see any which aren’t, please let us know.

timethief and auxclass, thanks for doing your best to help out here, it’s very much appreciated!

Thanks for responding here and confirming what I posted was correct. It’s appreciated.

Thank you for your response. Could you further assist me to unsubscribe from this thread? I have tried several times but received failure notices.

I would prefer to move from the disconcerting insults (“dramatic performances”, “passive aggressive”,etc) and threats (“google spiders”) that have been levied at me in this thread in the response to my complaint about having to pay to free my blog from ads I do not screen.

    Can you help?
    Thank you.

  • I can’t unsubscribe you, but I can close the thread. :)
