my links in my right column disappeared
-
@taylorsoutback: Please read the replies above (thesacredpath’s and mine).
@All: Yes, the Links widget has no options. You just add it so that links will show up in the sidebar. Links themselves are managed via the Links section of the dashboard sidebar, not via the widget.

@taylorsoutback, thanks for the link. I see that with the exception of one person above, are all using the same theme, Mistylook, so this is looking like some sort of a problem with Mistylook as I am seeing the problem on my test blog as well.
I’ll contact staff.

thanks Sacredpath – guess what – they all came back! I also got the same message – “no options”… I went back to my links listing and just clicked on “apply” at the bottom – don’t think that had anything to do with getting them to reappear – but who knows?? I agree – definitely looks like a tie in with our Mistylook theme if everyone suddenly had the same issue. Your feedback is much appreciated – have a good rest of the week!

I had sent a support ticket in just a few minutes ago, and just now got a reply saying they were looking into it.
-
Thanks thesacredpath, your instructions worked for me, http://jblibrarian.wordpress.com/
-
You’re welcome. I think staff may have found something between the time I had reported the issue to staff and just a few minutes later, because all of a sudden on my test blog things were working again.

Sorry for the troubles! We are working to update the code behind all of the widgets and it resulted in a duplicate Links widget for a while. If you added the Links widget during that window, your blog may have been affected. To fix the problem, please try adding the Links widget back from the Appearance > Widgets page in your blog. If that doesn’t work for you, then please contact support directly to let us know.

Sorry for the typo. Mine should read it is not working correctly. http://www.christalive.wordpress.com.

@writenow, I think you are being affected by a different problem which I’ve had in the past after putting a “more” line in a posting, using the visual editor.
It seems as if sometimes the visual editor misses off one of the tags, or puts it in the wrong place, and then all the widgets disappear from the right-hand sidebar, as well as the type size changing. The solution seems to be to edit your latest posting, selecting html instead of the visual editor, and check that the coding for the “more” line is exactly like this:
<!--more-->
removing any extra tags.Hope this helps!

My links list is missing and so is the widget entitled links, so I cannot activate the links widget. I have not changed my blog and the links were there yesterday. My thems is misty look and my URL is http://janeaustensworld.wordpress.com/
-
@janeaustensworld: I can see a huge list of “Blogroll”, “British Links”, etc. etc. in your sidebar. If you still don’t, try logging out and clearing your browser’s cache and cookies.
-
@gunservatively: Did you read the responses on page 1 of this thread? Just go to Appearance>Widgets and add the Links widget back.
And please paste the exact URL of your blog when asking questions here, or link your nickname to your blog (as explained in the Sticky 8 Things to Know Before Posting). Helps us help you.

Thank you Judyge for your help. However, I did not put a more line in my post, and this morning, everything is still the same; my complete side bar is missing. I think I need to report the problem to support.

If this is the blog you are talking about:
http://writenow.wordpress.com/
