moving from 123reg to wordpress

I currently have a site http://www.mydomain.co.uk hosted by 123.reg and also an email (email visible only to moderators and staff). I want to move it all to wordpress and use a new version of the site that I have built using wordpress. How?

It is not possible to transfer your 123reg domain to WordPress.com, as WordPress.com doesn’t accept incoming domain transfers
However, you can to map the domain you have registered with 123reg to your new WordPress.com site. You will need to upgrade your plan to a paid ones: https://wordpress.com/plans/

Thanks for that. If I map my existing domain to wordpress as described will I have to continue to pay 123-reg for hosting or whatever it is. What about my (email visible only to moderators and staff) email? Do I have to do something to transfer that to my wordpress account? cheers Pete

You won’t need to pay 123reg for hosting, but you will still need to renew the domain through them.
Please note that email details are hidden when you post them here in the public forum, and you should avoid posting your email address here, or any other public forum.
WordPress.com doesn’t offer an email hosting service, and domain registered through WordPress.com can make use of different email options. To learn more about that, please see here:
