Media seems to have expired?
-
Hi there,
Our site has a lot of media assets (images and pdfs) that have recently become unavailable.
We created a new site using WordPress as the CMS, and redirected our WordPress.com blog to the new domain, so maybe this period of time with the site not live itself, but just redirecting led to the media files expiring somehow?
We noticed because the new site linked to many of the old files, and those links expired also, so we turned off the redirect, but the files are still inaccessible. (Screenshot here: https://go.screenpal.com/watch/cZhDD2VL3S7)
Any help would be much appreciated!

The site you are asking about is a self-hosted site. You can get help for self-hosted sites at the WordPress.org forums. You can also reach out to your web developer or host for more assistance.
It sounds like you may need to update the site permalinks or clear the site cache, however, since the site is not hosted here it’s hard to tell.
I did check the older WordPress.com hosted site, and that Media Library is showing all images with no broken image links. -
Thank you for the response! It looks like the images on the older WordPress.com site have come back in one piece since my post, and all is well! We’ll get them migrated into our self-hosted environment now.
Thanks again for the reply! -
