Mac using XAMPP for WordPress, but cannot update

    Hello,

    I just got my the zip file from a programmer that designed a website for me.

    I installed the XAMPP for local hosting.

    Then I managed to copy and paste all ‘wordpress’ document, so I could open
    /wp-admin

    However, I can neither download plugin or update.

    They said Unable to connect to the filesystem. Please confirm your credentials.

    or fail to connect :21

    I tried my Mac login ID, Data Base (XAMPP) login ID, it is still not working.

    Then I suspect its about the permission problem, so i added

    define(‘FSMETHOD’, ‘direct’);

    to wp-config.php

    However, it is not working…

    Please help me for this situation, Thanks a lot
