Lost my wordpress website!

  • I have an account with wordpress and can’t find my site! Help!

  • Hi there,

If you remember the email address to registered your site under, you can recover your site. Information on account recovery is here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/

Towards the bottom of that page is a link to the Account Recovery Form.

If you don’t remember which email address you used, you will need the help of one of the staff. You can type modlook in the tags to the right and on of them will contact you.

    Good luck!

  • Hi rima2014,

What is the URL of the site you are unable to find?

Just let me know and we’ll go from there.

    Thanks!

  • Hi Gemma,
Thank you for your message. Here is my login link:

Your login locations have changed to:

    http://rimamontoya.com/wp-login.php

Here’s what happened: In the process of creating a new website with GoDaddy, and chatting with one of their agents, they reassured me that my wordpress site would be deactivated but that I would still have access to it as an admin. So I gave permission to publish my GoDaddy site. Then I tried to access my wordpress site as an admin so I could get all of my site photos, text, etc. and whammo–no access, no site! The domain name is rimamontoya.com.

  • Hi rima2014,

You will need to contact GoDaddy, and ask them to help with your login.

Your site is hosted on GoDaddy which means it is a WordPress.ORG site. This forum is support for WordPress.COM. It’s a bit confusing, I know! Here is some information on the differences: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

If you have WordPress support issues in the future that are not login or account-related, please visit the WordPress.ORG support forum here: https://wordpress.org/support

    Good luck!

  • Hi rima2014,

Thaanks for confirming. As @joyinco mentioned, rimamontoya.com is a self hosted WordPress.org site rather than a WordPress.com site. The site is hosted by GoDaddy and separate from WordPress.com, which is why you are unable to manage it from your account here.

Please contact GoDaddy for help, they should be able to give you more information about admin access to your site.

    Best of luck!
