Line spacing variable after adding background color: Grid Focus
-
Hello,
I wanted to add a background color to my post which I did. However, the line spacing of the text in the post is now slightly screwed up. In the first paragraph the line spacing is too tight; in the later paragraphs, it’s how I want.
I’m missing something.
Your help much appreciated. Thank you. The post is here: http://solidgoldcreativity.com/2011/09/15/perfect-little-bon-bons/

In your opening div in the post, you have not declared units for your line-height. This is what you have.
<div style="line-height:1.4;background-color:#eedc82;padding:12px;">
You need to use units with inline CSS in most cases such as below.
<div style="line-height:1.4em;background-color:#eedc82;padding:12px;">

OK, the text beside the image is tighter in Safari, but not in Firefox. In Firefox it is all the same.
The issue is the first couple paragraphs are not “paragraphs”. Select the first two paragraphs and from the “format” pulldown in the editor at the left end of the lower row of toolbars and select “paragraph.”

Yeh, I’ve tried to re-format several times with no success. The div style statement is interfering with it so I’ve ended up taking it out.
Thanks for your help as always, TSP.
Cheers,
