It’s Possible!: Facebook SHARE and LIKE buttons…at the same time!
-
I just dont understand why my sharing icons appar toghether under “+”
That is because you have put them in the box on the right, that says they’ll be visible after a click through a Share button. Move them to the left, out of that box.
There is no Following button for WordPress.com.

hmmm. enlightening, thank you very much.
1. you can get the like 5-star functionality from wp already but yes obviously what you have done is better using FB-like – which is more industry standard.
2. Very annoying as I will now have to re-jig my site to do what you have !!!
3. You seem to have those buttons appearing on your pages when the user goes to the root/home of your blog. all my buttons only appear when an individual post is clicked (which i don’t want). any ideas what special thing you have done???maybe a feature of my theme??? http://blog.kothea.com/ or http://kothea.wordpress.com/ -

This was incredibly helpful, thank you! Both the info about share/like and the icon finder were great to know. Could I trouble you to tell me how your badges are all in a row on your sidebar? I am new to all of this and so far all I can do is stack the badges on top of each other by creating two separate image widgets. http://madameparadox.com Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Thank you so much for this, added! I dislike asking more questions as I know you must be incredibly busy, but if you have a moment, is there a way to change the font, or is it the font of the share words based on theme? Thank you!

hsd9965,
Regarding how I center the social media icons on my site [http://jcrylequotes.com/], simply add these HTML codes below to your current HTML code within your widget:
Put this on the BEGINNING of your code ► <p align=”center”> and then this at the END of your code ► </p>
By the way, if you want some cool shortcuts on HTML in order to spice up your sidebar, keep this handy dandy HTML cheatsheet bookmarked ► http://www.webmonkey.com/2010/02/html_cheatsheet/
Hope this helps you.

Has this information been superceded by the instructions found here?

timethief,
The link you provided was NOT able to offer the Facebook SHARE and the LIKE button at the same time. That’s what THIS particular thread is about, giving the blogger the opportunity to have BOTH on their blog.

Hi, your workaround was great, but I now have two share buttons and no like button. Can you please fill me in on what I’m missing? Thank you. JD

Hello & thanks a lot for this!
I am trying to make a facebook sharing button by adding new service. I am following your steps and copying the links you have posted. But no facebook sharing button appears when I press create share, no button to drag to enabled services. What do you think I could be doing wrong? -

I am moving this thread to the questions forum because so many people have wondered how to do this.

Okay 1tess. Sounds good.
Hopefully many more folks in the “questions forum” will discover this little “secret” of enhancing their blogs a bit. ;)

Hi and thanks for the post. I’m getting lost a little earlier in the process than some of the others here. You say to go here:
1) Your Dashboard
2) Settings
3) Sharing
I’m at my dashboard and the sharing option is just not there. I have the latest version of WP. Is there something else I need to install or enable to see the Sharing option under settings?
Thanks very much!
