iTheme2 Blog Background not showing

Hi everybody!
My WP plan is:
free plan: garexiumboxer.wordpress.com
+
Domain mapping: garexiumboxer.com (13 € per year)I’m using iTheme2
Can I change background image for free (I need to set a custom background image from my PC) with this theme?
Or I need to buy some extension? eventually how much is the extension?I’ve read other posts with the same problem, here but I can’t understand if the free version allow me to change background or not…
Eventually can I choose another theme to change background image for free?
Please help me! Thanks in advance!!

I’m sorry but I don’t understand:
I go to:
custom design – background image – select image (then I select it and I can see it in the preview, but when I try to save and publish nothing happens.You mean that I can change the background for free or not?

You’re in Custom Design Trial mode, so you can preview customizations but not save them. To exit trial mode, go into the Customizer’s Fonts or CSS panel, and click “exit the preview” as in this screenshot:
