Issue with readers clicking on the blog comments icon in Baskerville2 style layout on an iPad
-
Readers have complained to me that when they click on the ‘comment’ icon on a blog summary listing (in WordPress Baskverville 2 layout) when using Safari on an iPad it takes them to mid way through the article rather than to the comments at the end. This doesn’t happen when using Safari on a Mac or an iPhone, only an iPad. Can this be resolved?

@french8d03e49c8d, can you share a link to the affected site? We’d be happy to take a look.

Thanks. These are just jump links, like https://busandtrainuser.com/2022/03/13/e-is-for-evesham/#respond (edited)
Jump links have been around for as long as the internet has been widely popular, long before mobile devices, and I don’t know why they would be misbehaving suddenly. But surely enough, when I test on my iPhone, some of those links are indeed jumping to the middle of the post rather than the beginning of comments.
We’ll need to do some testing on our side. Thank you for bringing this up!
