Intellectual Property for Submissions

Hello! We had a question regarding intellectual property and copyright at WordPress. We are an academic blog planning to put out a call for submissions within our school and scholarly field. Once we receive submissions and decide which essays to publish, does WordPress own these essays, or does the blog own the essays, or does the ownership still lie with the original author (who is stated within the post itself)?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

The content you create belongs to you, the site owner or the author. This thread has been tagged to ask if a member of staff could advise you further.
