    to understand why i can’t customize my paid site separate from the free blog that I have with wordpress. it is not showing up anywhere.

    And exactly what kind of customization are you having issues with please?

    I’m asking because (1) you cannot edit CSS on any site hosted by wordpress.COM without purchasing either a Premium or Business upgrade (2) we do not provide support for wordpress.ORG software installs.

    This is wordpress.COM support. We cannot answer any questions posted here accurately until we have the relevant URL and have confirmed hosting. Note that about 30% of those who post here daily are posting to wrong support forum and the answers to wordpress.COM and WordPress.ORG support questions are not the same.
    We provide support only for wordpress.COM hosted sites. We cannot provide support for sites that are not on our servers. Our support docs do not apply to
    (1) local installs of wordpress.ORG software on your own server or
    (2) wordpress.ORG software installs on paid hosting, and we do not provide support for them at wordpress.COM. That support is found at http://wordpress.ORG/support/

    WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, support docs and support forums, run different theme versions of themes with the same names, and many people get confused about the two.
