I am unable to recover my account
-
This is so frustrating, I’m trying to recover my wordpress.com account for the last 30 minutes and there is nothing that I can do to recover it. It was not even possible to contact the support without creating a new account.
The problem is that in 2014 I enabled 2FA on a phone number that is not working anymore, 6 years later.
The form “Account recovery” does not allow me to continue because it keep complaining that:
Sorry but the website you gave does not exist on WordPress.com. Is it a self-hosted WordPress.org website?
Which is true, because I want to login in my wordpress.com account just to change my Gravatar profile!
Please, help me to solve this issue or tell me how to completely delete my account, including the Gravatar profile.

Hi, sorry for the trouble. Can you please get in touch from the account email, and mention the account username and the issue you’re having, by emailing
passwordhelp@wordpress.com
? Include the old phone number as well. They’ll be your best bet for sorting this out.

My name is Johnny Mariakakis, and I own Mariakakis Fine Food and Wine.
back in 2014 or 2015 Ms. Camelia Rosu helped me set up a web site
for my business. The account was listed under her email ((email visible only to moderators and staff)).
She forwarded me an email from WordPress indicating our renewal could not be processed because our credit card info had not been updated.I attempted to update the subscription but I did not have a password. I tried
to us my email address to do so, and apparently I’ve created a SECOND
account, and now I cannot use the password I was able to just obtain from Ms. Rosu today.PLEASE help us out to resolve and update our records so we
can continue our website subscription.Johnny Mariakakis (owner and manager)

@mariakakis3d029eb258 I have redacted your phone and address. Please do not post that information publicly.
She forwarded me an email from WordPress
It sounds like she may be the upgrade owner. Is she able to log in and make the upgrade purchase, or transfer the upgrade to you? She is welcome to reach out for more help.

She was UNABLE to enter the account
because it indicated my email was
already address was entered by me
(which now prevents her from transferring
the web site to my business). She no longer lives in our area and
I hate to inconvenience and trouble her
to resolve this issue. Can you PLEASE assist me to straighten
this out?I merely wish to take over this account since this
website belongs to my business, and I
wish to keep the website online, and
I wish to have my business continue
to pay the subscription from hereon.[redacted by staff]
Thank you,

@mariakakis3d029eb258, please have a look at this page to learn what we need in order to help you regain access to the account:
https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/
Then either fill in the form on that page or email us at
passwordhelp@wordpress.com
. This is not something that we can solve here on the public forums but if you send us an email, our Account Recovery team will get back to you. -
This is my third attempt to continue my website on your
platform. The person (Camelia Rosu) who originally created our website
in 2014 had listed our account under her email address. She forwarded a WordPress email notification
indicting our subscription needed a credit card
info update to renew.I tried to renew it using my email address,
but the response does not show my
website account! How do I resolve this??????
If WordPress wants me to continue
using them as a platform for my website
they will need me to provide my
credit card information, but I need
assistance to connect my email address
to my website.HOW DO WE RESOLVE THIS?

Hi –
There’s some confusion happening here. Instead of writing back to us in this forum, where we aren’t able to help with account recover, we need you to send a new email to us via
passwordhelp@wordpress.com
.Then, you’ll wait for someone to respond to that email. Please tell me once you’ve sent that email.
