http error when uploading mp3 files

  • I have previously uploaded mp3 files successfully. Recently I am always getting “http error” when I do.

I am not doing anything different.

I am told I still have lots of space available.

  • It looks like you do indeed have quite a bit of space available. How large are the mp3 files? Do you have success with smaller files or are you experiencing the issue across all file sizes? Also, can you try another browser like Google Chrome to let me know if you experience success? Lastly, can you try the single file media uploader here?

  • Size of files is in the range 80 to 100 MB.
I am using an up to date Firefox.
The uploader starts to work, but stops and gives the “http error” message.

I have uploaded many files of this size in the past. The recent ones have been produced with the same procedure I have used in the past.

  • I have just tried the single file media uploader with the same result.

  • Can you try Chrome to see if that’s any better? This is definitely an odd issue. I just tried uploading an audio file in Firefox, and I experienced success. It seems like whenever this pops up, it tends to resolve itself, but a temporary switch in browsers also helps. I’ll keep trying to reproduce!

  • I tried Chrome and was successful. This is odd.
The attempts with Firefox included three different computers operating Vista, Basic Windows 7 and Windows 8 64X.
    Thanks for your help!

  • Great! I’m glad we were at least successful with Chrome. We should be able to solve this problem in Firefox though as well. I’m currently able to upload files in the latest version of Firefox. If you clear your browser’s cache in Firefox, does that help to resolve the issue in that browser?
