How to type foreign characters in WordPress
-
How do you type accents, tildes, and the like in a US based WordPress blog? MS Word (i.e., CTRL + apostrophe, accented letter) procedure doesn’t work. Decimals don’t work.
??

I’m wondering if you know that you can set your blog to your own language on this page -> Options -> Language
You can also modify the interface language on the Your Profile page. -

If you are copying and pasting from Word then first click icon 16 in the editor and then click F. http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/05/15/what-do-all-the-icons-mean/ -

You can also use the character map in the advanced/extra toolbar insert them. As above, first click 16 but then click J to bring up the custom characters.

And if you know the html codes you can just put them into the html editor.
Find a list here: http://www.starr.net/is/type/htmlcodes.html

@rosclarke
Thanks so much for posting that link. I’ll include it in my resource links as soon as I get a chance to blog. :) -
Thank you, everybody. html codes, as suggested by rosclarke, work best for me as I switch back and forth between languages and didn’t want to change interface language.
