How do I control home page images?

Add topic to favorites
Some of my pages feature images on my homepage but I can’t work out how to control –
1 whether page or blog image features on homepage
2 how to control which image features first
3 how to set or change these images
4 what is this feature, where there are images from blog or other pages featuring on homepage, called?
Thank you in advance. I would really be so very grateful to know how to sort this out!

If you scroll down, you’ll see information on ‘Slider’ and it should assist you with your questions.
