How can I add an email subscrption?
-
I registered with feedburner and copied the code it gave me. Then I put a widget in my sidebar and first copied it in the bottom part then that didnt work. Tried copying it into the link part . That didn’t work either. It just shows the code on my page in the sidebar.
And everything else in the side bar dissapears. Cna someone walk me through the process. The faq part of this site didnt help much. Im still confused.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

We need a link to your blog, starting with http, in order to help you; or you can just link your username to your blog under Website on the Profile page.

Thank you. You need to put the code into a Text Widget. I don’t think you were using the right kind of widget.

I did use a text widget. And which part do u put the code in? THe top adress bar or the bottom part?
-
You put it in the bottom part. The top part is just for the title.
It’s probably a good idea to double-check you have the right code. Paste it here, between backticks, those little apostrophe-like marks that are usually on the same key as the ~. So it’s backtick, paste all the code, backtick. That makes it display so we can look at it.

here is the code it show to paste:
<form style=”border:1px solid #ccc;padding:3px;text-align:center;” action=”http://feedburner.google.com/fb/a/mailverify” method=”post” target=”popupwindow” onsubmit=”window.open(‘http://feedburner.google.com/fb/a/mailverify?uri=wordpress/YnYA’, ‘popupwindow’, ‘scrollbars=yes,width=550,height=520’);return true”>

That code won’t work here. Forms are stripped out. They must offer some other code for WordPress.com users. Look around their site, because I know lots of people here use Feedburner for this reason; it might just be code that links to Feedburner so people can register there for your feed, I don’t know. But I do know that won’t work.

OK it works now. But now everything else in my sidebar has dissapeared. How do I get it back??
-
Once you make the first change to the sidebar, it wipes out the default set of widgets. Just add back whatever you want, one by one. I’d recommend Pages, Recent Posts, Recent Comments, Search, Archives, and Categories, just to start with.
