home page short intros to posts, not the full thing, help!

im trying to get my home page to show all of the posts as small intro’s that people have to click into, not the full post, can you help?
I thought I’d found it in settings, reading, but it didnt work, help please!

You can decide how much to show on the front page by using the <more> tag in your posts:

Just put your cursor where you’d like to break the post, and click the “more tag” icon.
Alternatively, you can set an excerpt for each post — your theme supports this. Enter the text you want to appear in the “excerpt” field under the main post editing window. This allows you to display some teaser content, rather than actual text from the post. More detail:

Are you referring to this blog?
http://jeanworsley.wordpress.com/I believe you are referring to the settings here > Settings Reading “summary” but that is only for the RSS Feed display. It does not affect what’s displayed on the front page of the blog.
Note that Triton Lite is a theme that is designed to automatically displays front page excerpts followed by read more links. http://tritonlitedemo.wordpress.com/
