Help with domain!

    I had an existing website avantocollective.wordpress.com and i bought the domain avantocollective.com to use for this website instead of the wordpress ending. when i tried to make the original website i had going into avantocollective.com , it prompted me to subscribe to wordpress, which i would like to just use the free website for now, then it made a whole new website which i did not want to do! How can i get reimbursed for this extra website and subscription i did not want: i just want to make avantocollective.com the domain for my original site! Help!
