Header is blurry no matter the size

  • No matter what theme I use, the size I change it to, or the type of file I save it as my header continues to be blurry. I don’t know what to do to fix it.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • This site does not have a header image https://twintestedmotherapproved.com/

What is the URL starting with http:// of the site you refer to?

  • You are referring to this image header yeah?

The image looks OK to me however will vary depending on screen resolution site being viewed on as well as ppi/dpi of the screen, but above all, the quality of the original image is the most important factor, and scaling imposed on the image once uploaded will only degrade the quality further.

Your header image is perhaps over compressed at 16Kb and I see some background ‘shadow’ or ‘artefacts’, I would suggest the best solution is to created a higher quality (as in detail of image) version for your site, presuming you have a copy original file used to create the image you now use for your site?

  • In addition to the good tips provided by acesabe above, I would also suggest the following:

    – use PNG format instead of JPG, there is less compression/artifacting
    – save the file at 150 dpi instead of 72 dpi (if that’s what you’d done)
    – remove the very small text (i.e. the domain name) from the image – that’s not going to be super readable in a graphic at any resolution

Let us know how it goes.
