Header Image Distortion
-
Hello,
I’m using Theme: Digg 3 Column
When I upload a picture to my header image, it’s so distorted, you can’t tell what it’s a picture of. How can I prevent\fix this? I tried using Adobe Photoshop to resize the pics to 904 x 160 pixels, but it will not let me change the size of the pictures to 904 x 160 pixels.
Thanks!

Google came up with this one as the first: http://www.shrinkpictures.com/
I don’t know any of them myself…

I tried resizing and it still didn’t work. Now I have a red x in the header…how do I get back to the original plain header? There was an option before under custom header to change back to the original…this option is gone now?

I always size my stuff prior to uploading it as I can better control quality. If your image is larger than the allowed header area, the first thing to do is to figure out which dimension (h or w) is closer to the header dimensions. Then, with “preserve proportions” selected, set either the width of height. Depending on what version of photoshop you have, you might be able to set the crop box dimensions and dpi (in CS3 you can). After setting that, you can then drag the crop box across your image and then move it around where you want it and then hit enter or return to crop it. Then save it and upload it through presentation > custom header.
