Green Marinee and Widgets
-
I’m using the Green Marinee theme (http://mgilly.wordpress.com/), which says it has widgets. However, when I go to the widgets option in my dashboard it says:
“No Sidebars Defined
You are seeing this message because the theme you are currently using isn’t widget-aware, meaning that it has no sidebars that you are able to change. For information on making your theme widget-aware, please follow these instructions.”
It contains a link for theme developers. So what’s the deal? Green Marinee says it supports widgets but really doesn’t? Anyone else have this problem?

The regular version of the theme does support widgets. However, this theme was adapted to run on wordpress.com software and does not support widgets in the version we have here.

That’s strange as it says that it does support them in the theme description here at wp.com.
Feedback sent to staff about the issue.

@groovymarlin
BTW in case your thinking of changing themes Ambiru and Supposedly Clean also lack widgets. And Hemingway does not have a full widget compliment. -

You’re welcome. And if you prefer a theme with a header that’s customizable then this thread will be useful http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/07/08/which-themes-can-i-add-a-header-image-to/
