Free Storage Space
-
When I checked the plans, I saw that the limit for Free is 3GB. However I was prompted that:
Looks like you have used 142.5 MB of your 100.0 MB upload limit (143%).
Any thoughts?

that is a very odd message for simplysaycheese.wordpress.com. and not consistent with what I have seen for my sites – should be referenced to your 3GB basic limit
I have flagged this for the staff to look at your media usage

I received a similar notice on my blog “Archie’s Archive” except mine shows 694MB which apparently is 594MB over my limit. I’m posting here so that I get the reply as well (hat tip to overworked staff)
Thanks, Ærchie

This is also happening to me.
Dashboard says I only have 100MB Space Allowed and 1340.65MB Space Used. I took a screenshot and tweeted it, that’s here: https://twitter.com/kthrog/status/687139707294203904. I also can’t upload photos right now because of this.
My blog is http://www.theglobeturner.com (wp: kaitlinfender.wordpress.com).
Thanks!

It’s a site wide issue – I just looked at a couple of my other sites and they are all showing the 100MB limit except the one with a space upgrade
So either the staff has been messing around again and goofed or it’s a new way to change the terms of service to force everyone to buy the $99.-/yr upgrade

Just found the same thing…from a 3GB upload limit about an hour ago, to 100MB just now. This appears on both of my sites: cinemamonolith.wordpress.com and statispro1978replay.wordpress.com. Thanks!

Hi, I also received a message that said :Howdy!
Looks like you have used 750.0 MB of your 100.0 MB upload limit (750%). Since you are close to your limit, you might want to consider purchasing a WordPress.com Premium plan.
However, the real number that has been displayed each time I uploaded a photo is more like 25% (or 27) of my free basic limit. Now I am blocked from uploading any photos.
Please help, I am having great traffic the last 5 days and cannot afford to miss out. I will start deleting old photo files but cannot trust that the message will go away and I will be enables to upload photos again. Thank you Kindly! I Appreciate your help ! -
Thanks, shinzh1a! Maybe that ‘hiccup’ was a warning…we should start uploading all that we can before it reverts to 100MB for good! :-)

ok well this just happened to me but i can see im not the only one now so hopefully itll be back to normal soon.

The support docs still say 3GB – but would not be the first time the support docs were behind – however this big a change would kill most sites since it does not take many pictures to get to 100MB even if you optimize them for the web – so hopefully just a goof – and $99.-/yr for a casual family blog is a bit much I think – and even the hosting services have larger storage limits – this change would not be popular at all

Hi. I’ve been using my blog for 4months only (28posts) and the message that i see in my media library is: Looks like you have used 2,3 GB of your 100,0 MB upload limit (2 314%).
Is it really possible? Now the only chance is to buy the premium plan or delete the files (which I don’t want to do)

@timethief
Yes, zero sense…which is why I put a smiley face at the end of the sentence, to signify the comment was a joke. No need to get snippy.
