Feedburner for WordPress Slows down Page Loading…

  • Hi,

We have installed Feedburner into our hosted WordPress blog and it works well for displaying the latest articles we have published. However, due to the way it connects for the latest articles, it is one of the last things to load on the page, thus slowing down page loading times…

Not sure how, but have an assumption that by changing the position of the Javascript, to the very footer (before the </body> tag), that this may make a difference? Same applies for things like Twitter Site Feeds and so on. If Twitter goes down (which it does), then so does your site, until of course the js times out and reloads the rest of your page.

Would love to hear from other with; same problems and any recommendations on how to get around this!

    Many thanks – Paul

  • Sorry, you are in the wrong forum and need to head over to http://wordpress.ORG/support/ as that is where self-hosted wordpress blogs using the software from wordpress.ORG are supported.

These forums are for those hosted here on the wordpress.COM free hosting service and things here work differently and our answers typically will not work for you.

If you do not know the difference, see this support document: http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ .
